  1. Blame the losers who claim Soros is paying Antifa to kill patriots and helped the Nazis for making any criticism of him sound like a conspiracy theory.
  2. I don't agree with what he insinuates. So no, he is not right, in my opinion.
  3. He is insinuating that the DAs make their decision based on what the scary Jewish globalist boogeyman irrationally feared by white trash conspiracy theorists tells them. If you have beef with Soros but not the Uihleins, then you just don't like when people donate to democrats, not that the ultra rich can curry favor by making donations.
  4. Is that what you consider a rebuttal? Going off on an irrelevant tangent? Give this guy the siouxsports debate championship trophy!
  5. Found the QAnon believer (along with whoever liked the post)
  6. Me: simpsons' depiction of nuclear power ruined public perception of it You: it was the Media! Me: do you have any examples of this? You: *lists liberal media outlets rather than examples* Me: again, actual examples? You: look it up yourself Not sure how I'm supposed to have a rebuttal to that. I'm more than willing to back up my assertion about the Simpsons.
  7. Then don't "fix" my posts if you can't back it up.
  8. Do you have examples of actual articles they've put out that convinced people nuclear energy is bad?
  9. Matt Groening pretty much ruined humanity's opinion of nuclear power, unfortunately. Chernobyl and 3 Mile Island didn't help either, haha.
  10. If they do support QAnon, they at least know better than to discuss it. Q Adjacent
  11. Who controls Soros? Is it (((them)))? Is it the Rothschilds? Is it the lizard people in the Illuminati? Open your eyes to the system, sheeple!
  12. The ones that are getting arrested, sure. But many are 20 somethings with service industry jobs and liberal arts degrees that aren't brave enough to actually put their money where their mouth is.
  13. The guy who kept getting arrested for it was homeless (205 and Burnside is a giveaway), and the guy in southern Oregon has a mile long rap sheet for crimes related to a drug habit. Both are skid row, not anarchists.
  14. Both arsonists arrested had nothing to do with a political position. Some people just want to watch the world burn.
  15. Beer scene is much better in Portland, and all over the state. The coast, Eugene and Bend have great beer too. Real estate is high for the local wages. Lots of people cash out of their house in the Bay Area and move to Portland to...wait for it... retire. There aren't as many tech companies HQ'd here but lots of satellite offices. The urban growth boundary artificially inflates real estate too. Still nowhere near Seattle or Bay Area prices though.
  16. Yep. In North Dakota I'm a liberal, but here I'm a conservative. EDIT: I love it here, but would probably prefer Seattle except it has horrible traffic and piss poor mass transit.
  17. Maybe if we hadn't spent the last 20 years making junkies out of people who came back from the endless war with PTSD, this wouldn't be the case. But you're only concerned with the symptoms, not the cause. I'm not ashamed that Portland doesn't ship its homeless population elsewhere like so many other places do.
  18. Oh man. Burnside and 205 is a rough spot. There's a bike path along 205 I often ride with visitors, and near there I always warn them that they will likely see people with a needle in their arm. You ride head down, not to avoid eye contact with the junkies, but to make sure discarded needles don't give you a flat tire.
  19. A cop got put on leave for posting a video blaming Antifa for the wildfires. The union is working hard to defend his right to post that online!
  20. People are often quick to stereotype in search of an easy conclusion. Not all Native Americans (actually, very very few) have huge sums of cash waiting for them when they turn 18, but if you live in certain parts of Minnesota, those are the only Native Americans you'll ever encounter, potentially leading to an incorrect perception and stereotype.
  21. One of my biggest frustrations with liberals of late is the "microaggression" nonsense, and here's why: I've long held that focusing on racism overlooks a bigger problem: classism. In the same situation, if the black male is dressed in a suit and tie, and the white male appears to be homeless, you'll be more afraid of the white male. But saying this is a "microaggression" and will get you written up in your sociology/anthropology 101 course these days, even if you say trigger warning. Drives me nuts. EDIT: didn't really finish the thought. People aren't afraid of black people as much as they are afraid of poor black people. Addressing that as a society would be constructive.
  22. The problem with the study you cited is the prevalence and ease of angelicizing one's name, as immigrants have done for generations, Jews did in early Hollywood, and Asians are now doing in droves to combat discrimination in college admissions. A better example would be the study of people's reactions to different races when crossing paths with them alone in the dark. Everyone was afraid of crossing a black male in that situation.
  23. That ship sailed long ago. Between the comment sections on college hockey sites and Brad's blog, Goon somehow having a press pass, and behavior/appearance/demeanor at the Final Five, Hayduke being a fanatical liberal isn't tarnishing the good name of Sioux fans.
