  1. Here's the link 350,000 tickets are sold to watch a sports event in Grand Forks in a year. I don't think that leaves much time and money for another successful hockey team.
  2. If the UND hockey team were ever to evaporate I think Grand Forks could support any of those as there is a big hockey culture. But with UND already having hockey I think the population wouldn't support it as there are way to many ticket options. Look up star2citys thread about UND already can claim the most spectators watching its sports among similar schools (FCS).
  3. When you watch Monday Night Football it's in 720p and not 1080p either. Rarely is much high definition in 1080 unless it's bluray.
  4. UND losses a lot of money on customers trying the Internet option. Not working that well and not paying for the rest of the season. I paid for a few games way back in the day about 2004. The product sucked. I haven't even paid to try it again since.
  5. I'm stuck in Fargo with no Midcontinent. Where a good place to go and watch the game? I heard west Fargo has Midco sports net?

I feel like we learned more about this UND team in the win than a loss.
  7. I said I thought this game was going to be the last victory for UND and by the looks of it UND will be proving me right. I seriously don't see another win for this team barely beating ISU.
  8. Mollberg good for a pick or two every game?
  9. My cousin is getting married today too. Five o clock which also cuts into watching the game. Interesting enough they are getting married on the UND campus.
  10. In all seriousness, UND should (cough cough) win this game. As its probably the last realistic chance UND has for a win this season I feel.
  11. Idaho State is licking its chops.
  12. I know why threads are archived as we went over this before. But one could make a good argument for why one should not archive threads. Grand Forks is once again discussing building a new library and will probably have another vote. I think it would have been beneficial for new members to be able to read that thread in addition to another thread...granted one could just link to it or copy the other talking points. Oh and I was going to say thanks MafiaMan for "taking SiouxSports to the next level" in the thread I started a while back but it's also locked so I will say thanks here .
  13. Well this thread got off track quickly.

I wouldn't either, luckily i live in town and not Williston like you...Dakota Dan lives in Williston and I already have enough time convincing him to make the same drive to watch this sad blowouts that are over after 20 Minutes. If it wasn't for tailgating I might not go either...well that and I keep my mom company.

"look we are improving....we won a game against a team with scholarships...next year will get better...we are young...we have injuries. We are competing and getting better every game!" hahahaha
  16. If I were to guess college athletics has more money rolling into it than the NFL and NBA combined. And that might just be at the Division I level. If you ask me some of those big football programs have so much money coming into their hands they don't know what to do with it! You can't pay Nick Sabin much more money because isn't his contract greater than some NFL coaches? They really want to pay players. You could argue a future star in the NFL or basketball has a lot to lose by taking a chance in college athletics and they are now recruiting against the major leagues (Lebron James vs the Michael Jordan types). And with these new tv network college athletics money deals that never really existed before say ten to 20 years ago, they are seeing huge increases in revenue. In the future it will no longer be how many scholarships can you afford to offer but how much money can you afford to offer.
  17. And in the future that stipend could really grow from the say $2,000 to $10,000. And High School kids might rather be backups on FBS teams to FCS teams ensuring a greater gap so if those higher and lower division teams still play every now and then. The FBS teams won't get embarrassed by losing. They are noticing the scholarship discrepancy isn't enough.
  18. And Bill Belichick.

Or not diving right by the punt catch man because you "assumed" he called fair catch?

"Basic Fundamentals" like letting the punt catch man actually catch the ball before you slobber him?

The paper bag is better than boycotting the program....I sat through both of the Montana games, every last second. And will be there every second of every game the rest of the season too! I might not be enjoying it but I will be there! Cause when UND is at the top again it will feel that much sweeter.
  22. People this year I got to chat with that stopped by to say they liked my table: Jeff Panzer, Nick Mattson, and Joe Mollbergs dad. Joe Mollbergs dad saw my calendar and wanted to get one for his son....and that's how I found out I was talking to Joe Mollbergs dad, Kent.
  23. And that's probably why these two blowout losses probably mean so much to us fans. Not only the way UND lost but who it was too.
  24. Serious answer...what made UND good over the years. It was trying to keep pace with NDSU. They were winning championships in the 80s and UND had to keep up. Luckily for UND, NDSU was on the top of the division for most of the decade. If UNDs main rivalry was St Cloud or Augustana....well you know the rest. Why does western ND high school suck at hockey? Or should we ask why is the east so good? The east competes and tries to keep up with Minnesota. While the west tries to keep up with the east. What makes the SEC great at football?
