Funny thing your first sentence says "Must adapt a nickname." Love how people are arguing UND new nickname will be " North Dakota. " Yeah that makes complete sense.

Most people on this site would rather have Roughriders than no nickname. Wouldnt be surprised if that held true for everyone.

No Nickname probably won't make the final cut, but by the looks of it the majority of SS'ers won't mind.

The consensus seem to be these are the most popular options. I and others would like to know just how close it might be among the the top two choices.

It's more pc than throwing a hawk on the ice.

1) A small sample size of UNDs most dedicated fans. 2) That two headed girl down the block is also "unique." 3) People have learned to accept just North Dakota over Sioux these past four years but no way can they learn to accept a new nickname? 4) Makes no sense to have a no nickname logo. 5) I hereby organically name UNDs sports teams after the guy riding the horse outside Engelstad Arena: the RoughRiders.

That's why just use the technical definition of Roughriders. Doesn't have to be about the guy that's on Mount Rushmore or the National Park in North Dakota is named after.

I ran some numbers: .05% of Grand Forks showed up for the Rally. About the same number that was playing bingo with my grandma in the Grand Cities Mall.

We get our info from the same place then: other Bison fans.

Last I heard they had to cut out the suites and reuse some of the old wooden bleachers. You'd think all the money they'd save not having many women on scholarships...
