Surprised so many people are just now realizing the committee to pick a new nickname is actually going to pick a new nickname. Lol

It's easier to be against something than for something.

First we steal their best hockey players. Then we steal their states nickname.

RoughRiders: Still has more votes than all other nicknames combined. ROLL RIDERS

That's doesn't appear to be Tom Miller.

Might want to tell the Herald as the headline states: " Committee forwards 5 nicknames for public vote" Combining this and the Herald polls. RoughRiders is the clear winner as its #1 is both polls. But this one has Hawks in second while the Herald has North Stars.

There's no more committee.

OU is the Sooners because it's the state of Oklahoma nickname.

So RoughRiders leads every name by at least a 2:1 margin. Can you say landslide.

Fighting Hawks. Cause it has the word Fighting. Cause its better than Sundogs. Cause it has safety in numbers (8th most popular nickname among NCAA). Cause its unique to North Dakota. Cause it'll make us have a sense of pride. Cause it'll instill fear in the opposition. Cause it can peck a Bison to death. Cause Eagles are overrated. Hear me roar.

I guess they were right. Most just "North Dakota" fans did indeed want that so they could be the de facto Sioux Forever. Now they're struggling to grasp reality.

Easily trademarked. Oh look I did more than the committee. I solved an "issue."

How about the Fighting Roughriders!

Sundogs is just a decoy to make Fighting Hawks look like Sioux 2.0.

It still baffles me how Roughriders can easily be the favorite among people on this site, at the Herald, and the people of Grand Forks, but ranks below Sundogs with this committee...

Amen. Fighting Hawks doesn't rank very high on their own list.

She recommended it. Others didn't. So "see what the public think" will not be happening.

That's old news. It's not an option.

They thought about it and still decided no nickname option is still off the list. Moving on...

They discussed it. And no nickname is still off the list. One of these five will be UND new nickname. And correction. No nickname isn't a fan favorite.
