UND's new nickname, whatever it may be, will forever be tainted now.

Since we know all the Nodak people are easily swayed, they should switch their votes to the name that has more votes, Roughriders. And avoid teams within their own conference with the "Hawks" name.

You can debate whether or not the term Roughrider should be connected with North Dakota in the first place. Thats one thing. But as we currently sit today the term "Roughrider" is heavily in use in/by North Dakota whether you like it or not. And since North Dakota uses it heavily, a lot of people think its a good fit for the flagship. People like Nodaks, because of the "history", but UND's last two nicknames have been the states nickname...That's the real history UND should continue. -
oops. Makes more sense now. deleted it for being wrong, and obnoxiously large pictures. I think this is where I got the "Bohl" part.

It was announced the first ever Fockey game will be played in UND's new on campus retractable roof stadium in 2045.

Fockey is definately played on skates. 8 per side (5+11/2).

I see College Gameday is going to FCS James Madison this year. Are they going to start doing a FCS team annually now?

That's a bold prediction. You have to wonder though what all those alumni outside the GF area ("westerners") are voting (supposedly the largest alumni base) who haven't been following Brad (and the Herald) pushing Nodaks. That western influence might lean "Roughriders" pretty good (the majority of voters already lean Roughriders based on SS and Herald polls).

UND hockey team vs NDSU football team who wins? It's a 100 yard ice field with soccer goals played with a football and hockey sticks.

Since he was talking championship game. Hockey Championship games, I believe, are always sold out (at least "recently" regardless whos playing) A few years ago they put the hockey championship game in a football field because its usually sold out. 37,000 people attended. Theres been outdoor college hockey games upward of 100,000 (they had to quit selling tickets), much larger than the largest FCS football game ever played.

The backup QB. Always the best QB on the roster. I've watched Studsrud throw bad interceptions (last game he played. His first pass of the game?), I've watched Bartels throw bad interceptions, and I've watched Mollberg throw bad interceptions. Those things aren't going to change.

That's the first thing that popped into my mind also. I know its very improbably but it'd be sweet to have the logo revealed at the same time in a press conference.

It's not a conspiracy a lot of folks are voting for Nodaks not because they think it's the best name, but because its the closest thing to "no nickname." Plenty of people have admitted such, but they have ever right to do so. All we can do is sit back and wait for the final announcement....I wonder how they'll eventually reveal the new name?
