Win, lose, or draw....People will perceive the Hockey/Fighting Sioux Forever crowd as forever having a major impact on UND's new nickname. Which is a great way to help bring a uniting force to the new nickname.

Based on the latest polls here, 90% of the people on this website will be "disappointed" if Fighting Hawks wins.

A lot of people, especially people on this board, have Nodaks and RR number one and two and would have switched to the other one left. I'd have voted for Nodaks vs Fighting Hawks and by the polls here a lot of people would have too. Now I doubt any name will ever have over half the vote.

UND's new nickname, whatever it may be, will forever be tainted now.

Since we know all the Nodak people are easily swayed, they should switch their votes to the name that has more votes, Roughriders. And avoid teams within their own conference with the "Hawks" name.

If my calculations are correct if UND wins Saturday it'll be the best start to a season since the new Ralph opened.
