  1. Just sort of pointing out the logic and how right schlossman was about his article. If it wasn't for this sport (football), this sport (basketball) would be bigger. You'd be lying to yourself if you didnt think UND football would be way larger if UND didn't have hockey. (Just as NDSU basketball would be way larger if they didn't sponsor football). Interesting watching people's justifications. The National Championship for Womens Hockey is aired on CBS. Has a UND sport ever been televised nationally over the air?
  2. If whockey is holding back volleyball and basketball. Mhockey is holding back football and basketball.
  3. If women's soccer and diving had any sort of attendance they'd probably give out free tuition there too. If the gophers played at und in women's soccer there wouldn't be enough stands to support the people wanting to attend.
  4. I'm not sure what the budget is of the third most popular women's sport at UND. I hope it's very high being it's so popular at UND.
  5. At least it's a close (tie) game in the fourth. Makes for a more entertaining game.
  6. Two average field goal attempts one for each team missed badly. Not making FCS look the best. 0-0. In the 2nd.
  7. Sounds like a nice perk offered to be able to go.to women's hockey games if your in these certain UND clubs....those packages become less valuable when it replaces women's hockey with women's soccer. The entire community gets into women's soccer games for free. What's it average?
  8. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4027741-comparing-und-athletic-spending-competing-schools How much does UND pay to rent the Ralph?
  9. Not true. ESPN is showing both games. Edit: notice it was already pointed out...game is about to start. Hawaii didn't win a game last year...wonder who'll win.

  11. Yup and they pretty much set the "Sports Narrative" of the country.
  12. A sold out Madison Square Garden, BC vs UND would look pretty good....or when 75,000 attended a game to watch Michigan play Michigan State but only got Fox Sports.
  13. When's the last regular season college hockey game on ESPN?
  14. Game was in the works and announced before the draft. Second year in a row NDSU opening game has been on ESPN. ..Don't forget to tune into ESPN September 17th to watch NDSU play at Iowa.
  15. If one has an analogy of NDSU being fourth choice of the evening? Was UND even invited to the party?
  16. Tune into ESPN this weekend to watch how they are ignoring NDSU by broadcasting their football game live from the Fargodome.
  17. I think I pointed this out a few years ago, but damn The University of North Dakota always finds a way to get itself in trouble by having too many people bid on its products...and leaving a bunch of (summit league) teams butt hurt.
  18. oh ....You Are The Type That "athletics" Should Be "Self sustaining" And Not "marketing".....because if you reread your original statement it's been pointed out as False.
  19. Exactly. Matt Schill (love the guy know him personally).....hired at UND....produces video highlights......for UND hockey........while "free money from tv contracts" is acquired......yet need to cut baseball (at und since 1954) to support paying the hockey players and program (despite RECORD athletic spending). People like you are great at rationalizing why football at UND "struggles"....smart guy like you must obviously know it's a transfer of resources from sports that have been around since before we were born...."gender equality? Or full cost of a attendace? Meanwhile* our football team prays the donations come in for uniforms!
  20. You must not read this thread much ..scroll up.. .educate yourself.
  21. They have the same place to go as NDSU....scratch that.....U of I can go where they decide to bring conference mates....or more importantly where they have already declared who they want to follow...not even (we love to save costs MVFC has a school) that has declared that because they are glad to accept anyone (historically loving D2 move ups).
  22. Midco and UND are building rapport. Which both know are helping build each other up, and will be both multiple more to each side in the future, as UND conference games are already under contract with national television (and midco contract has to work around)....neither of which are happening at NDSU as KVLY just realized it only competed with basically no one.
  23. Here is the summary for the "dim witted", UND has strategically aligned itself with like minded state institutes who have bigger goals than FCS football. Including one Big Sky team that can leave the conference without penalty if U of North Dakota decides to leave. ....not a bunch of commuter junior college schools glad to play up to FCS ball.
