Talked to a popular former UND football player from the 90s. "Who do you want the new coach to be." ....his immediate response.... "Someone not from the program."

What position can they create for Brad Berry in the Athletic Department?

If you read those replies to Ralphie someone said "this is what I want for christmas" and Ralphie just copied that picture.

This would make sense why Fruechte was named interim head coach knowing his job is secure.

I guess Chaves is doing it old school style. Especially if there's no announcement Friday and the longer this drags on. Post job opening. Do interviews. Pick a coach. Which means I guess he "didn't have his guy." Caruso has a big lead in that poll. So I'm hopefully he gets it.

Hopefully it turns out better for him than it did for Brad Berry, who doubled Hakstols Frozen Four win total in his first year.

Chaves is a mastermind. And everyone should be kissing his feet. Blinded by hatred because your football coach wasn't winning as many games as we'd like! Ya'll talking about how the contract extension was stupid and we could never afford to get rid of Bubba. But the guy not only was able to get rid of Bubba the second he missed the playoffs, but he simultaneously created a new position that the university has to pay for to help UND Football! They'll name monuments and buildings after the guy!

That guy has become the biggest sellout since joining the Forum payroll. He does absolutely nothing of interest anymore.

I don't get why the excitement for leading the program for only a week and then possible unemployment? Seems to be maybe just creating confusion more than anything without knowing the details. ...or maybe adam called his buddy and got more inside news?!

The "8 years" was just to throw ya'll off the scent and think it's not Fruechte?! Then bam! "7's good enough!"

So Fruetsche gets to be "interm head coach" for three days? That seems real useful....

First Bubba gonna stay until replacement. Hours later no longer the case "interm coach." Deadline Dec 6, Hours later jk Dec 4.

From former job listing's Dec 6 is the earliest date from a hire can be announced if you wanna follow the "rules"....

Bubba is gonna be sipping his coffee on the terrace of the IPF every Monday morning next year watching the football team practice. Bubba would have made the perfect "interim head coach."

Took NDSU 3 days to hire a new coach: Dec 10 to Dec 13

Lennon resigns....Mussman hired. Total time: one week.

Fruechte and Mussmans credentials are pretty similar: Played ball at Big Ten school OC at a MN d2 school Right Before joining UND as OC. Will the next chapter be the same? UND OC directly to UND Head Coach in their 30s?

Who did NDSU go get to help turn their program around.... In the early 2000s when they couldn't beat UND? A guy who was the defensive coordinator at a Big Ten program and a part of two National Championships with that same team before leaving for NDSU.

Took NDSU a week to announce Entz was leaving to announcing a new coach. UND can go the route when Muss was fired and do a long drawn out process and make Chuck the pigskin guy national news again... Or go the NDSU route and announce Fruechte as coach tomorrow. Which will it be? Place your bets!

Tomorrow's press conference could also be the introduction of what the search committee looks like, who's on it, timeframe, etc...

I asked the program, the Red River High School graduate, helped build. It gave me this answer about tomorrow presser: Take it with a grain of salt though....

So the presser is to reiterate nothing new? I didn't think that's usually what happens at press conferences....could be wrong though. Maybe it's just "national search...interim coach." Or maybe the contract details were just finally worked out and that's why Fruechte was added? Stay Tuned...
