  1. I disagree. Brandt plays (starts) from here on out. Parise sees time only if Brandt significantly falters. Brandt needs to play vs. Holy Cross for the simple reason of getting him focused for the rest of the tournament. My opinion is that Jake struggled vs. the Gophers because he had to watch the AA game.
  2. To me, VS1 is nothing more than a local access cable channel, maybe minus the two high school geeks that thrash around with their guitars. I would define a "network" as having more than a few locations around the TC, significantly more. Perhaps VS1 could call themselves an actual "network" when they get a deal worked out that will put VS1, at the very least, on cable television systems statewide. I still say the NCAA was extremely foolish in awarding the bid to VS1. Maybe next time do a little investigating to see how many viewers will be reached instead of simply counting the zeroes after the dollar sign.
  3. Being Glas is an alumnus of BSU and they play in a fieldhouse named after his father, what are the chances of Rich taking the job at BSU to close out his coaching career? [url=http://www.sbuniv.edu/athletics/mbasketball/04guiot.htm]SBU NAMES JEFF GUIOT HEAD MEN
  4. Exactly. How does the NCAA award broadcast rights to a "network" that isn't even a network? One would think that having as many fans as possible being able to actually WATCH the games would be somewhat a priority.
  5. Formerly a member of the NCC, their women's basketball team had a pretty good year. Morningside Women Blast Past Cedarville For NAIA Title
  6. Hager is a head coach again, at the IAA level. Northeastern University hires Rocky Hager to be new head football coach.
  7. The Ralph is busy next weekend. And virgfossisgod, it's pretty tough to have a 2 vs. 3 final. If things go the way that they should, it will be Sioux/bison IV in the semi's.
  8. Yeah, but the mighty bizzon beat Montana last year.

    27-0

I don't know if having a Mr. Hockey finalist on the ice for (at least) four of the 8 goals in the third period, including the last two that were scored in the final two minutes of the game, could be classified as doing the "best he could". Here's an idea... DON'T SCORE! As if there was a lot of doubt of what the outcome was going to be before the game was even played. Tell the boys to make ten passes before they shoot or they sit. Send only one guy into the offensive zone, or they sit. Use lines 1 & 2 to spot 3 & 4 if they get tired. There are numerous alternatives to putting up 27 goals on a team. Does MSHSL rules allow for a team to use what has been their JV team throughout the year in Section playoffs? Or does the roster have to be submitted before the section playoffs start and then remain basically intact through the duration? Anyone?
  10. You should have shown her the door long ago!
  11. Landon Wilson traded to Pittsburg Penguins for the dreaded "future considerations".
  12. Assuming that you don't even know where the caps lock key is, I'll help you out. It is on the far left-had side of your keyboard. (Hold up your hands with your thumbs pointing towards each other. The hand that looks like an "L" is the left hand.) It is usually the third key up from the bottom. Shouldn't be that difficult. At least it works for my 3 year old. The rivalry is over (for now). NDSU left DII. UND stayed. Get over it.
  13. Add the Undlin's from Mohall to that list. Interesting to note that the assistant coach at NSU in those days was Tim Miles. Yes, that Tim Miles. As long as Glas has been at UND, ND class B has not been recruited that heavily by the Sioux. Ben Jacobson was an assistant coach in those days and you would have thought coming from Mayville and being a successful player for the Sioux, that he would have been able to see that Class B players could compete at that level. One issue was that UND wouldn't offer money initially to the ND kids. They would have to come to UND and "prove themselves" and maybe get some scholarship money after a year. I know that is what happened with one of your three listed at NSU. And I know that it happened with many others as well. Maybe that has changed.
  14. Shows how much (or little) BF1234 knows about anything. While Ferris State isn't a 'wow' opponent, they obviously were good enough 4 seasons ago for a school that prides itself in playing a "tough non-conference schedule" in their opener. Seems Ferris State would look pretty good on that school's schedule about now.
  15. Impressive letter from Mr. Thomas. Looks to me like the ball is in the students' court. As a former UND student that was as loud and obnoxious as anyone else, I want to agree with Mr. Thomas that indeed perspective changes once you "grow up" and begin to bring your family to UND events. This topic was discussed earlier. Last week, I believe. It comes up every year, though, and it doesn't seem to sink in with some people. I think the most significant issue is the LACK OF RESPECT for people around you. Yes, I do think it is that simple. SiouxTupa, It was good of you to post this in it's own thread. It is significant enough to not get lost in the oblivion of some other thread.
  16. The Sicatoka, There you go again... trying to explain something to BF1234 using logic and facts. For shame!
  17. At least they'll be able to bump up the price of season tickets now.
  18. Probably similar to the "shock" when Justin Timberlake came through the Super Bowl stage. It is really difficult to speculate as to what possibly could be enough to "shock" Sioux fans at this press conference. Grand Valley would indeed be a tremendous upgrade in the non-conference schedule of years past. Though a game with NDSU as a non-conference game would be as well. We'll have to see. Never remember a buildup such as this for a football press conference to release a schedule.
  19. Weather alert for today (Saturday) Weather.com forecast and maps for Grand Forks Not sure if NorthDakotaHockey has left yet, but thought I would post the latest. It seems to be snowing pretty heavy right now 50 miles east of Grand Forks. Travel safely.
  20. Arnason had the go ahead goal in last night's game vs. the Flames. Hard to believe he's having this much success in the NHL, considering who else came out of the WCHA when he did. Too bad SCSU "officials" don't feel it is justified to recognize that success in a respectful manner. Blurring an official logo is asinine.
  21. I would go to www.weather.com and enter a GF zipcode. I usually go by what the weather is actually doing at the time when deciding to take a trip or not. In this part of the country, if we were to base decisions on what a weather man says might happen, we wouldn't do a damn thing for 8 months. Well, except inside stuff.
  22. The unsportsmanlike was to offset the penalty lil' Shep had called on Tallackson for giving Canady 'socko' (sounds better than glove-o).
  23. I guarantee that the women's hockey program at UND DOES NOT receive a check at the end of last year (for $500,000) if it is not for the new Ralph Engelstad Arena. I will also guarantee that "The Betty" does not get built at all if it is not for the new Ralph Engelstad Arena. It doesn't matter what any contracts say. These two things don't happen if the men still are playing in the old arena and they are not selling BEER.
