The 5-6 season last year should've been 6-5. Mussman made a terrible coaching/managerial/clock management decision that cost the team a game at Northern Colorado. 2012: Blown out at MSU and at EWU and then the UNC debacle; followed up by ... 2013: Blown out at *home* by Montana and MSU (and more than likely EWU) The rope is used up.

Football has the ND on the sides (helmet, sometimes shoulders) and "North Dakota" on the front. Hockey ... now has the same. And it sounds like hockey is going back to green hats this year.
-
None of this will matter in 14 days. A road loss to the toothless Bungles and another destruction* by a BSC opponent at home (at Homecoming no less) will seal the fate. *UND has given up 118 points at home in its last two home games. That's 59 points allowed per game. I predict the average given up at home over the last three games will go up after EWU. Yes, I see EWU hanging at least 63 on the board. They want to blow past the numbers the Montana schools hung up.

What made UND great and will make UND great again
The Sicatoka replied to geaux_sioux's topic in Football
Q: What made UND great? A: Blocking and tackling. When you can't do either, you aren't great. Harsh, but there it is. But I know these guys can do both ... but aren't. That screams "lack of supervisory leadership" commonly called "coaching". -
NORTH DAKOTA vs. U. Manitoba - Sunday Oct. 6th

Battle and battle. -
Stand by for the "Ouch!" statement of the day: NDSU's volleyball team looks as inept as UND's football defense.
-
Care? No. End up being cornered by them? Yes.

Mussman still has a job right now? <facepalm> Please tell me that there is no other option and Faison is just running out the clock (letting this season go); however, if that's the plan there'd better be an announcement with two weeks left in the season that Mussman is not returning so we have any hope at finding a good replacement and getting some recruits.

Lose the wildcat nonsense.

None. At. All.

The UND guys at SIU haven't exactly been ripping things up. I'm not sold on going that route. It's "break it down and rebuild it" time. My top three candidates: Kalen DeBoer Scott Hazelton Glenn Caruso Stretches? Tim Tibesar Brooks Bollinger

And the last two have been a couple of real bricks.

Sometimes you have to hit bottom ...

I still say he should have been put on notice after the cluster at UNC to end last season. The Montana game should've been the final straw and the bye week would have served as time to get the interim up to speed.
-
In all seriousness, Mussman should resign but that would cause him to not get paid. He'll hang on, get fired, and get what due in the contract. Let's hope that's tomorrow.
-
Brooks Bollinger.

I only bring up Berg because our young coordinators are out of their depth without a senior, strong mentor. Honestly, I don't know if the NCAA requires any special training or certification to be a head coach in Division I. If not, name Berg the interim and give him the power to cut guys off the team immediately. He's seen way more from the press box than he'll say on the radio. I don't know it, but I know it. If it does, seriously, name Ashley Hardee or Brad Berry the interim. Yes, I'm serious.
-
Can we change that to next week?
-
That's why I brought the name up.
-
In closing, Mannausau is looking smarter by the minute.
-
Glad to see geaux_sioux has seen the light. Don't you wish he'd have been cut loose before the bye? You put the senior assistant in charge unless you have someone locally who is NCAA certified to be interim head coach. Does Mike Berg have the right qualifications for the interim title?
-
I win ... Unfortunately.
-
You are correct, but when senior management sees middle management not doing the job they should step in.
