The polite, UND, thinking man's, answer: The commercial art studios are downtown. This would be co-locating students with them (while still leaving a base at HFAC on campus). Or The vitriolic, uncouth, posting forum answer for contrast: Segregation? Is that why NDSU students that don't smell like animal barns now have a downtown campus in Fargo (so they don't get made fun of by those that do smell like the barns)?

UND fans had time to laugh it up from about 1997 to 2003 (UND on top, NDSU down). Well that changed: NDSU is riding high, UND is down. But as always, the times, they is a-changin' ... and always will.

Dave got the job on his merits, yes; but this rumbling is out there. I noted the alignment of Dave's latest deal just before O'Keefe's announcement. To me that signals a clearing of the way to a change, if need be, down the road.

Allow me to be blunt: Hakstol signed a new deal (to 2017 I think) as his father-in-law stepped away from heading the Alumni Foundation. I think everyone, including Dave, knows he needs to hang a green banner (north end rafters at REA) under this deal or (a) he'll be confirmed as UND's "Doug Woog" and (b) he won't be signing a new deal. He's setting his defensive corps for the future as they take longer to mature. The forwards are lined up. Dave knows. He'll execute, or he won't.

The senior class is four guys: two are transfers, another can't stick in the line-up, and the last is one of the calendar-youngest captains I can recall. And they we have an underperforming junior class. There. I said it. Un. Der. Per. For. Ming. Under. Performing. We need the freshmen to get to semester break, because there are no freshmen after semester break if they are doing it right.

If guys on scholarship leave, that opens up a scholarship for the new coach to get a guy that buys into his system. Plus, you lose a guy that wasn't bought in. I'm trying to figure out how that is bad.
