So you're leaning pro bird flipperingish?

Their admin changed their setting such that you can only see parts of it if you're logged in.

Third, yes (try the dagger shot). Fourth, no. Kick FG, take lead. You did it to win from 54 the year before. Compare end-of-game management of the 2012 UNC game to what we saw last week (2014 NAU). No question who I trust. (Hint: pick the game we won)

Let me set up my statement: Last time in Greeley, Mussman, with 0:47 left, down one point and on the opponent 34, and facing 4th and 1, and with a kicker who's hit from 54 on that field (year before), rather than making a 51 yard FG attempt goes for it and fails. (That's the day I was sure Mussman had to go. I had to wait another 365 days.) So, my statement: I just want a better job of clock management and situation awareness than the last time in Greeley.

The Big Sky app / Big Sky TV shows that the conference has the infrastructure to produce games and get them where they need to be (internet or satellite up link). If ESPN can get content for little to no investment it'll catch their eye.

I guess from a "flip the bird at the NCAA" perspective I could live with either Ghost Riders (and we know which former riders on the plains we speak of; hint: REA plaza statue) or Black Stripes (I wonder if we could cut a deal with Adidas ... ) And yes, finding a way to "flip the bird" to the NCAA with a new name that still meets their PC criteria would help the name garner some favor with many. The problem: We'd be setting ourselves up to drag the albatross forever.

Ow.

Ah yes, the lost member of "The Village People". http://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/15780-new-nickname/?p=726043

The NCAA policy affects names and imagery.

It's a pretty compelling argument.

Like I said elsewhere: Lisa, get well. Life first, hockey next. and

Wasn't Montana on NDSU's schedule the week after UND and now it opens the season? I was hoping NDSU would look past UND to Montana. Not so much now.
-
That's NDSU.

Volunteering?

I'm surprised no one has told me " ... the pattern is full." I'd never dug into the legend / mythology behind the Ghost Riders. It's actually kind of interesting (and ties to Norse / Germanic mythology).

I didn't realize how catastrophic the injuries were. She's lucky she's alive. This has to be tearing Izzy up. (Yo Izzy, I'm thinkin' about you man.) Now, ... < turning slowly toward the two 18 year old idiots cited > ... you two schmucks should be tested to see if you can be the bone donor she may need. I hear it's a really painful process and I can't think of anyone better suited for it.

Do you cure that with a yellow cowbell?

If we're going to rip off a Canadian junior team ... I like Fernie's "Ghost Riders" name. Their logo would not work, but, we all know who the ghost riders in question are. This is where ScottM's "Auburn" (Tigers / War Eagle) solution comes in: Officially "Ghost Riders", unofficially ...

And with that ... it's lunch time!

1. Using a state of ND nickname should be considered.* 2. Using a neighboring state nickname should not. *Flickertails is already dead per Dr. Kelley, but I wouldn't put "Peace Gardeners" past him. And the whole "GFRR" conversation was had here many times before. You'll be able to find it using the site's search capabilities.

Wow. I'm not the final authority on this, but I think Jack gets a pass on the whole "honor thy father and mother" commandment for a while.

Minnesota is "The North Star State" and that's cool, so why not ... University of North Dakota Mount Rushmores ...

The "clear it" would have to be an addendum contract with the NCAA saying, "No nickname is a nickname and meets the stipulations of the earlier agreement." Nothing less would suffice.
