All I can guess is this: The ball was set with the nose just touching the 48. The WR's toe is just touching the 47. The center set the ball way forward (to 48 and a half) before snapping it (as they all do). The WR would be within one yard of ball placement on line in that scenario. That's the only way I can figure other than the WR did the point-check-nod-from-linesman thing.

The play counted. You must be wrong. That picture does look like six on the line. I wonder if the WR checked with the linesman before the play.

I used to enjoy seeing John chop up Dean Blais at Boosters meetings in Fargo when I could get there. Blais fears no one; Blais took everything John gave him in stride. UND does not fill the full number of NCAA allowed grants-in-aid for all sports. The latest grants-in-aid dollars numbers I have (from US DOEd) are: School Men Women Total NDSU 2037708 1323941 3361649 UND 1975047 1908352 3883399 Based on the higher total dollars for grants-in-aid, it would seem logical that UND's FCOA totals would be at least that of NDSU if not higher.

You're surprised the extra costs to attend school in two North Dakota cities separated by 75 miles are the same? ... a full amended grant-in-aid at UND is based on the total cost of mandatory fees and tuition (online tuition not included), room (as determined by UND for double occupancy), board (based on the “Unlimited Meal Plus Plan” rate) and books (as determined by the NCAA), plus personal expenses (including transportation) as outlined by the Student Financial Aid Office for athletes.
