  1. However, the "mask" bill isn't the worst, least thought out, most buffoonish bill this session. That winner is: https://www.sayanythingblog.com/entry/nd-legislation-classify-internet-connected-device-pornographic-vending-machine/ At least a day after introduction they killed it: https://www.sayanythingblog.com/entry/nd-legislation-classify-internet-connected-device-pornographic-vending-machine/ Yup, that bill would've charged every internet connectable device in ND $20.
  2. This bill is an offspring of the DAPL protests where ... masked ... highwaymen shut down a state highway illegally. You know, if I'd have been travelling Hwy 1806 and masked people stopped me illegally I'm pretty sure I'd have believed I was in immediate fear of great bodily harm or death.* *Some know what I just said.
  3. Odd number? Easy. Still make "travel partners". It's just that one partner is "bye". Yes, that means one weekend per year someone gets a home Friday or Saturday off. Alternatively, one road weekend is a one-stop per year. So what's Douple's address so I can send the invoice?
  4. The old NCC was always Fri/Sat (travel partners, for example -- Fri: UND at USD; NDSU at SDSU, then Sat: UND at SDSU; NDSU at USD). The Big Sky: UND was at MSU last night; UNC was at Montana; Saturday UND at Montana; UNC at MSU. http://www.bigskyconf.com/calendar.aspx?path=mbball&
  5. Don't laugh. I had a coach that would make us leave all the sticks in the room for one or two practices a season. Hint: Some of those were pretty fun (puck-to-skate work); some ... notsomuch ... #bagskate ...
  6. So Kolpack is admitting that scheduling in the Summit League is terrible. He says it: The Big Sky at least does Thu/Sat. Maybe the Bison should make a move to be with UND and have that predictable schedule he's looking for. Just adding UND is no guarantee that the Summit will begin to schedule sanely. NDSU should go to a conference with a predictable methodology already in place. Seems that's what he really wants.
  7. Ben mailed it in on that hawk attempt.
  8. The Los Angeles Chargers of Anaheim? The California Chargers of Anaheim? The Anaheim Chargers? (The more mature portion of the crowd will get the joke.)
  9. That's why Gopher hockey seldom plays on Sunday -- how can you watch that and not drink?
  10. Union and UNO were two good weekends. The key is to keep building.
  11. We're not pointing fingers or assigning blame. We're saying, "Sorry for the distraction; everyone back to subject, please. Thank you." Signed, The Management
  12. < TIN FOIL HAT ALERT > Could this be a way to do it anyway but blame Bismarck? "Our plan was to save them all, but in light of recent budget allocations out of Bismarck ..."
  13. In case some missed it ... ^^^^^ If you want to play in that sort of mess, may I humbly recommend ...
  14. I'm glad Miami showed up against SCSU. I figured UND would be fired up to go to "The Ralph: Omaha Edition". But they would also be primed for a let down coming home from there. Instead, Miami just put themselves firmly on the radar. UND now has no reason to look past Miami.
  15. Ditch the middleman. http://www.weather.gov/fgf I've been told a quite spectacular drinking game is to watch Valley News Live at 10 pm: everyone drinks every time they say "Facebook" or "Twitter".
  16. UND Football is in a position where they know they know they left a lot of good things on the table. That should tell them: (a) they're on the right path because those good things were there, and (b) there's more hard work to be done to get where they want to be. Be pleased, but not satisfied, and definitely not complacent.
  17. The site admin is a dude. (No, it's not me.)
  18. Right now in FCS there is "James Madison" and "The Field". "The Field" will be looking to change that; Madison will be looking to prevent it.
  19. If you wander in a pasture you're sure to get "stuff" on your boots.
  20. Allow me to clarify ...
  21. Actually, it would help the schools with something more than a scholarship to offer (tradition, facilities, path to the next level) but it would hurt the overall game.
  22. Right now it's "five years to complete four seasons of play". Why not change it to "four seasons of play to be completed before the player's 24th birthday". Keep the definition of "season of play" the same*. It takes all the appeals and scenarios out of play: Mormon mission? Get your four seasons in before 24. Zach Arenell scenario? 2015 doesn't count (<30%), but how old is he? That'd determine if he can play in 2017. *Participation in 30% or more of a team's games with none of the participated in games in the second half of the team's scheduled season.
  23. I'm pretty sure that is the difference.
  24. So he was at SBCC for three years (one of them a redshirt per his SBCC coach) before UND. He played in three games in 2015. He played 2016. So he did take a redshirt year at SBCC. That probably tipped the NCAA to "no".
