The hot rumor in the "early departures" thread is Wilkie is transferring to CC to be with his brother. (Yet to be confirmed.) That would make roster sense. We ran last year with 14 F (normally it's 15 F). Boeser and Jost go. Four come in*. That makes 16 F. I figured someone may be going to make it the normal 15 F. *Kawaguchi, Jones, Mismash, Adams. -
... against everyone but North Dakota.

That would make sense. The team normally has 15 F but it ran with 14 F last year; we lost Boeser and Jost; that's three slots but Schlossman has been saying four, Jones, Kawaguchi, Mismash, and Adams, are coming. I kind of expected to hear of a forward departing.

Interesting factoid: Matty Rinks just turned ... 25 (per HockeyDB.com). He was 23 when he went 10-2-2 and was a huge part of Number Eight. Tomek is not yet 20. Nor is Thome. Ryan Anderson is about 21.5 right now. Cam turns 23 this summer. As things look now, the blue paint will be handed over to a 21 year old Thome. Schlossman had an article a while back looking at how UND seldom has had a #1 goalie under age 20 in the last two decades. A 21 year old underclassman starting goalie fits the pattern. Goalies are like fine wine. They take a while to age into good use. But to age they must be in the correct environment, meaning they need pucks and game competition. Then again, goalies are like money and pizza -- ain't no such thing as too much. -
I suspect the donors weren't approached because the Spirit Campaign ($300 million) had been completed not that long ago. You'd be going back to the same whales about five years after the ask for the last major donation. Consider this: a million dollar donation would fund half a women's hockey season, ... half.

When all the other factors are laid out plainly, this is still the glaring fact that had to be faced.

Amended statement above.

Nyet. But I had negative influences in my younger days.

Great. You just set off a social media hashtag storm. Its clear you plan to cut men's duck-duck-grey-duck and women's musical chairs. Worse is you leaked it before you told the teams and held a press conference ... and they were practicing during the leak.

Isn't there some guy around here that's been saying that for nearly going on two decades? "Cafeteria plan" (pick and choose the sports you want to play and at what level) ring a bell with some of you? (Ouch. I think my shoulder just came out from patting myself on the back. ) The NCAA sets the minimum sport sponsorship levels. They could change those. But, that'd be like a government agency, or an academic institution, willingly cutting its own budget.

Skate or sit. -
To my eyes, and admittedly with no proof beyond that: Ovi should've gotten at least 2 for the slash on the elbow Ovi's stick didn't get Crosby on the helmet Ovi's foot caught Crosby's foot and that's what threw 87 off balance Niskanen did nothing but have someone off balance run face first into his stick Niskanen did nothing after 87 was down in front of him (no extra cross check; no bump with a boot on the bucket skating away) <-- that's why Matt got nothing more Watching that video, and knowing history, and given 87 was off balance and less able to protect himself, I wonder if worst of the damage didn't happen when his head hit the ice.

May 3 update: The NHL players selected who played last night (Kreider, Karlsson, Turris, JSchmaltz, Tarasenko) scored a grand total of 0 points last night. No changes to the standings. (Please verify.)

Yeah, but he ain't Karlsson. Most of the rest of the Sens are fairly anonymous.

Good luck. Drake Caggiula is a once-in-a-generation player.
