I saw lots of comments on the ice conditions. Was it that bad? Normally BWA has a fast sheet.

Going back to altitude, I'm glad they get the full week (Sun/Mon) and not a short-turn, short-week Fri/Sat series.

I think they're already planning for Sun/Mon at DU (assuming it goes).

So ... do they have a phone number yet ...

I've talked to players from the 80s to today. Each to a man has commented that they don't feel "rested" or "sharp" or "recovered" the morning after an altitude game and it affects them the second game.

As @jdub27 pointed out: Who wants to take on that contract extension he just signed. IND or PIT might, but only if their present guys retired. Who else?

If there is a significant shake-up, I wonder if the NCAA will look at minimum sport sponsorship levels. If budgets are not great around the NCAA, mandating 16 sports where 12-15 of them are red ink in most cases, makes no sense is and is harder and harder to justify in a world of tighter and tighter university budgets.

I've read that letter probably five times now and what's sticking with me is ... The Group of 5 (the second tier of FBS conferences: MAC, SunBelt) are not going to come out of this happy in reading that. They don't have the fiscal where-with-all of the Power 5. Frankly, many operate on budgets that look much like top half FCS schools. Thing is, if they were set in a position where their budgets better aligned to their competition they'd probably come out better off.

Post-game Bubs talked about a slow, show the rust, first period. I expected a rusty start. I'm glad it was fixed in first intermission.

The closer to the ice the more people affected. No internet at the arena (to get the broadcast out) is about as close to the ice as you can get.
