  1. I'd say DeRidder is the insurance to Hellsten next year and it puts a year gap (all DeRidder has left) between Hellsten and Hedquist. If Hedquist is on board that's a pretty solid plan.
  2. So, given the news about "DeRidder" (aka De Riddler) ...
  3. If I could transplant just 25% of Tyler Kleven's aggression and put it into Judd Caulfield I'd have two so-much-more reliable players ...
  4. Where would this team be with Jasper Weatherby.
  5. Dear Tyler Kleven, Two notions for you to ponder: 1. Luke Witkowsky - NHL talent, but an over willingness to make the big hit and take the dumb penalty with it. At. Every. Level. And he's led an AHL life because of it. I tried to tell him he needed to learn to reign it in, but I guess that fell on deaf ears. (How'd I tell him? I know his billet family during his time with the Fargo Force.) 2. JBD - Eight games. Eight. The rest of the year on the Belleville bus. And you'd be in the same franchise defense corps. You better than Sanderson and JBD? Otherwise you'll just be another one that rides the bus. So, Mr. Kleven, allow me to tell you what I've said before (see above) ... Learn to play within the game while it's still fun and not a job. Thank you for your time, The Sicatoka
  6. I read that as "De Riddler" and saw a goalie mask with question marks all over it.
  7. It's OK, you can say it. We all know it's Budy.
  8. I won't win some hearts and minds here, but I'd be fine if Hain moved on. We need speed and offense more than another bottom six grind, and, yes, that's what Hain is, especially coming off serious injury.
  9. The team needs (in order): offense (a couple guys that create) speed across the board goaltender to pair with Hellsten (and it just might be Hedquist) (late add/edit) a faceoff winning center man, and if that ends up as part of bullet point one, so be it
  10. "old-timer"? Who the < bleep > do you think I am? @PCMor @Rick?
  11. I invite some of you to investigate the 1978-79 and 1982-83 squads.
  12. CHI: 2022 2nd round pick (MIN) [Conditional]* *Conditions: The pick upgrades to a 2022 1st if Minnesota reaches the Western Conference Final and Fleury has at least 4 wins in first two rounds. MIN: MAF for $3.5M (CHI retains $3.5M) https://www.capfriendly.com/trades Fleury has been traded at basement rates for a HOF'er twice in a year.
  13. Dude's got reach and long legs.
  14. YDM! (You da man!)
  15. Folks were wondering why SEA wasn't doing like VGK did at their expansion draft and collect picks like seashells on the beach. Seems SEA was just biding their time. They have 32 picks over the next three drafts (normal is 21). They have FOUR second rounders in the 2022 draft right now. https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/kraken
  16. These guys gonna be busy-busy today. https://www.capfriendly.com/trades
  17. For MAF I heard CHI was asking somewhere between "arm" and "leg" plus one more "favorite appendage".
  18. @jimdahl is this happening this year?
  19. Leaving this here in case the NCAA populates it right at 5:30 Central (instead of waiting to end of selection show). https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/icehockey-men/d1/2022?utm_campaign=inline-superpage
  20. Bid sites must hold 5000. Many USHL rinks don’t. Fargo, Sioux Falls, Green Bay do. Not sure on others that do.
  21. The committee worries about “flights”. So why select three regional sites that are within 300 miles of each other when the fly/drive cutoff is 500 miles?
  22. The simplest bracket is straight chalk. The only conflict is UND/SCSU. You swap SCSU and UMass. You look at that and see … Mankato/Harvard and UND/UMass and say Worcester because of two MA teams. You quietly ask Michigan “Albany or Allentown” and WMU gets the other. Presto. Done.
