As an white helmet alternate, not bad ... green mask, black mask? And a corresponding alternate jersey using that overlapped ND on the shoulder (or over the breastplate) or on the front hip of the pant would tie it in.

It's not the new logo. It's not the blackhawk-esque logo that was peddled. It's Hawks ... or specifically "how about we keep Sioux". Too many thought that superficially about the subject. Now pair that with "Fighting" and you get a generic name leading to not great logo options. (Honestly, Schafer did as well as he could making lemonade from the lemon.) So, in a perverse way, the "keep the Sioux name" folks got their wish.

I tossed an idea for an alternate helmet in here.

This palate changes nothing but cleans up nicely, and makes more functional, what is already in hand. I could see an all white FB helmet with the full North Dakota wordmark (in green) on the sides as an alternate.

Close (and not wrong) but better phrased as ... One of former UND Alumni Assoc Exec VP (and former UND Hockey color guy) Tim O'Keefe's two daughters. The hockey intermission broadcaster (Katie) is married to Ryan Hale; the other is a UND Law graduate and Mrs. Dave Hakstol. If you don't know all the links in the chain you don't understand how it swings.

I understand the sentiment but it's not < snap fingers > easy. Most of the schools are called out in the State Constitution <- amendment process. The only present city not called out by name is Bismarck (and that's one I would keep). And those targeted schools would band together creating a larger east/west political riff which wouldn't be good for UND.

Paul Maurice's job is to run the bench ... and the room. Now I understand his dismissal ... I mean resignation.
