2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
The Sicatoka replied to AlphaMikeFoxtrot's topic in Men's Hockey
I saw over the weekend that Hobie Hedquist didn't finish a game and didn't play the next night. I'm hoping it was precautionary and not serious. But I also wonder what that did to thoughts about the roster. They're sitting 15F/7D/3G, so they need one more D but don't seem to be in any rush. They've (using Schlossman's lips) talked about a 16F as "Montgomery insurance". I sure would like to know what's up with HH to make sure the current plan still works. -
Ahhh-yup. Too many times the forwards figured out who is "their guy" right after the red light came on for the other guys. (MIN24 had the same malady for about 10 seconds of OT in a recent game. )
-
That is the weakest play I've ever seen by Cale Makar. The hit was very late and unnecessary (far from play, no puck near) and dare I say cheap. Frankly, it should on that basis be a "matching" penalty: for the rest of COL/SEA if McCann is out Makar sits. If COL advances suspension over.
-
Dare I say TBL looked like a team that was ... old and tired. Oh no. I believe TOR will finally get past the first round ... and then be autopsied alive by BOS. BOS is winning w/o 37 and 46. Imagine them (BOS) without a round of wear and play on the top two centers.

Bona fide, electrified, six-car monorail.
-
Run the apocalyptic nightmare scenario ... Someone would pay the buyout.
-
An express branch of the campus shuttle monorail system (Union to Joe Black's) would solve that also. @MafiaMan and @Blackheart can explain.
-
Shoot. I'm way younger than I thought by that standard.

Alerus Center opened on Feb 10, 2001, and cost $80 million*. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alerus_Center *2001 dollars

But you've said there's no hockey interest in the state yet go on stating its absence creates ticket demand for UND?
-
L: @Boise, @SDSU, @UNI* *hangover game; I've said what I've said.
-
261,578 tickets sold at REA may disagree.
-
UND is being unique with reason and purpose. The fan interest exists in Grand Forks because demographically GF is more "Canadian" or "NW Minnesotan" than any city in ND. Reason. So capture that interest. Purpose. Now if hockey wasn't averaging 11,400 per game over the course of 19 home games*, which pays its way, you may have a point. If you want a city that thinks like you, might I recommend Fargo or Lincoln. (Note I didn't say Brookings or Vermillion. They are still probably too BB minded for you. And not the Twin Cities because the Wild overshadow the Wolves much of the time, and when the Vikings are out and hockey is starting.) *Football drew 11067 (largest home crowd) against drivable SDSU. Shouldn't the football interested ND and SD fans been able to beat hockey's average?

You're missing the point: It's OK to be different with reason or purpose. One place has aviation; another has pharmacy. Each exists with a purpose, to fill a need or interest.
-
So what you're saying is someone should ... shut down pharmacy; start law and med. I'm pretty sure I'd find better logic if I went to the four corners of the state, to the coffee shops in Grenora or Rhame or Rutland or Hoople. And I think you're vastly underestimating the number of folks on scripts. I'm the fortunate minority not on a daily prescription drug.
-
"... let's not ..." ... as you do it. < facepalm >
-
Can not stand them. To me they drag and drone on.
-
Maybe he's onto something here. More people on a daily basis have need for or are impacted by pharmacists than pilots. Training pilots is a niche activity. We should dump that whole "aviation" thing because more people know or know about about pharmacy and pharmacists than flying or pilots. We should try to be unique and stand out ... by being just like our neighbors and everyone else. (Do I have to put that in purple font or does everyone see the snarky-cynicism dripping off that.)
-
... or did the Oilers as a team finally play with urgency.
-
When you’ve lost Phil Jackson …
-
One million dollars is consequential. A eight million shortfall has a nearby school reorganizing the entire academic structure. If the league has a drop-in replacement and was given adequate notice I’d waive a significant fraction, but not all, but charge enough to pay for the transition costs of the league.

Getting Bubs and Ryan Bayda as tour guide is pretty good for an 11 year old.
-
Who is Jonny Kennedy?
-
Wrong … again. At least you are consistent.
