You have to wonder if Toivanen signing with the Vikings didn't help make the case that you can get there from here.

Paye, Kuntz, Deng, ... This post aged well.

The 701 is a start, and a good message to "old skool" boosters and parents: This isn't willy-nilly throw money at you; there is some (academic) work involved. Even B'ville FB fans are skeptical of that "NDSU FB NIL" setup. If you're going to do it I'd rather see some gravitas in the organization and organizers, and not some website with "NIL" in the URL. Gravitas, like the hospital or one of the docs from it, or Rydell, or AE2S, or Burian Associates, or such.

Is where I say, "Deng ... look at that guy! Deng, he's big and fast."

24 hours ago VGK had 5 Gs: LTIR, 3 UFAs, and Logan Thompson (signed through 24-25). After signing Hill (UFA), I'd guess Thompson/Hill is the tandem and Lehner's career is over and he stays LTIR. At least VGK didn't sign Hill to an 8 year or some nonsense.
-
I don't get VGK trading an original misfit (R Smith) to PIT. I have a feeling https://www.capfriendly.com/ is going to be very busy over the next week.

The 'hawks bring in two from BOS (Hall, Foligno) ... a former high pick and some snarl. I'd say they're putting things around "the investment" to teach it and protect it.

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

So Dakota Dunes, SD, is better? (Ferner) -
You didn't state that. And what would a Pollard at least 2x present size do.
-
Foundations have been poured. We're way past a "change order" to literally change the entire project scope.
-
It'd be nice if you had the Pollard Center oriented correctly to University and Columbia. And there's not space for a football field due to MVII and the softball field. Other than that ... https://www.google.com/maps/place/Grand+Forks,+ND/@47.920028,-97.0624684,775m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x52c681355bbc5e25:0xb6b94d87c5f3d5a!8m2!3d47.9252568!4d-97.0328547!16zL20vMHlwMjE?entry=ttu

Is that Calgary in the rubble under that dust cloud?
-
Yeah, no reason to question an oversized suitcase loaded down coming into the building on Friday afternoon of a home hockey weekend. Can't see it; can't smell it; can't hear it; must not be there.

So that stock I bought in Ouija boards ... no good?

The only part of the thread title criteria I'll meet when I go is "dying".

NIL is another nail in the coffin of college sports.
-
And as cash cow, if it does it takes everyone with them. Where are the FB and BB donors, the dormant ones who'll fill Alerus and make UND move BB games to The Ralph for capacity.
-
UND MBB sold out The Ralph once: it was a Jeff Boschee led Kansas Jayhawks opponent. UND/NDSU BB games don't fill the lower bowl. That's all the thought that took.
-
I don't pick strategy by what'll damage the other guy. I pick strategy by what works for me and can be successful.
-
Same goes. I said we don't know. But I also asked if the risk/reward was worth it.
-
So downplay it by focusing on other things.
-
There is no evidence it would or would not; however, you've been consistent that more money will help football. The corollary is less would hurt, be it hockey or football. Does the risk/reward curve say cutting hockey funding is worth the unknown impacts to both football and hockey. I say the better solution is to build up the football donor base, not cut something else. An FCS title would better position UND for what? To say UND is just like everyone else? Any future donations will go to whatever the donor earmarks it for (see: Memorial Village II softball complex).
