That quote will haunt him throughout his career. Why? Some day Coach Jones or AD Faison will be asked about this guy as a coach. What'll they have to say.

As July 1 is just around the corner it's time to look back at the Kupchella administration and welcome in UND President Robert O. Kelley -- or as I'll call him "The ROK" A nice editorial on Kupchella by the Fargo Forum: http://www.in-forum.com/Opinion/articles/206524

It read to me as right out of the Forum Communications (The Forum, WDAY-AM, WDAY-TV, etc.) style manual.

Intense Politicking allowed Virgina Tech into ACC
The Sicatoka replied to star2city's topic in NCAA News
Ya mean we don't need colleges in Bottineau, Williston, Valley City, Mayville, and Devils Lake? It was bad before, but with IVN and Distance Education and internet courses 11 colleges in ND has become a true anachronism. -

Goetz is a western ND guy: legislator, former faculty at Dickinson State. If anything, he was put in play to appease the western part of the state, not UND and not NDSU. -

Funny is that Chapman's been allowed to be the "cowboy" of the NDUS system this long. However, there's a new sheriff in town named Goetz. -
Metrodome? Why not get truly wacky and pick the Blue Bombers' home. A little restriping and "Presto!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canad_Inns_Stadium

This whole situation was prime for a fabulous First Amendment lawsuit: "How can anyone stifle the words a public university?" would have been the crux of the case. It would have been epic. Instead, like Mark Steyn in Canada, free speech lost again. The Canadian style human rights tribunals with their star chamber tactics can't be far behind.

Nah, I'm sure that's not what he meant.

Now you're an expert on advanced sampling theory too? The debate is out on Nyquist versus Shannon and sampling frequency. Nyquist set the foundation; Shannon built up; that's why both names are used. But Johnson-Nyquist noise ... Johnson found it, Harry Nyquist explained the phenomena. And then there's the whole "Nyquist stability criteria" thing in the area of control systems and a few other things that set the groundwork for all of today's technology digital and high-speed communications technologies.

Yeah, he finishes strong.

Again ... Softball is not an NDHSAA sponsored sport, thus, you advocate immediate elimination of NDSU Softball.

Here's a real beauty out setting brush fires. http://www.indiancountry.com/content.cfm?id=1096417559 Now "Renegades" is an issue? And Savage Storm? And Zias? Moundbuilders .... I Googled "Zias" and found a bunch of Italian restaurants. A Renegade (per Princeton's definitions) is: someone who rebels and becomes an outlaw deserter: a disloyal person who betrays or deserts his cause or religion or political party or friend etc. rebel: break with established customs recreant: having deserted a cause or principle; "some provinces had proved recreant"; "renegade supporters of the usurper" I don't see anything race specific in that. So, look at what Myles Brand has created. Someone needs to tell Myles arson is a crime and he should stop facilitating it.

Easy confusion. From Schlossman's blog: He is from Saskatchewan, but played in the SIJHL (not the SJHL) so the above link is correct.

When's the last time one of your engineering graduates: - Was in space? - Had a fundamental theorem of digital sampling named for them? So now, as they say, "build a bridge".

"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody." -- William Henry "Bill" Cosby, Jr., Ph.D. The fact. The context. The agenda. See ya later JQP. I'd love to say I'll miss you on the ND SBoHE but ...

Samuel Adams had the present day American political landscape perfectly described from 200 years ago. It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. - Samuel Adams " ... an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds ... " He nailed it.

My lawn needs mowing. Go. I'll have the rest of your list by the time you finish.

Yes and yes, and there's not much else going on in the summer so it's a prime option. -
Brad Schlossman on hockey's popularity in Fargo
The Sicatoka replied to star2city's topic in Community
"Nobody cares about hockey." That's what the Bison crowd has told us all along. Whups. Hey Schlossman: How many UND Hockey season ticket holders drive from Fargo? More than 1500 (the number of season tickets for Bison MBB) would be really embarrassing.
