  1. Has someone sent him a link to this thread?
  2. Duncan with a "C" is a gimme. From there it's my opinions and biases: Jones. Then Finley. I'd stop there.
  3. Some want to name a Virginia class nuclear submarine the "USS NORTH DAKOTA". http://dorgan.senate.gov/newsroom/record.cfm?id=297269 Don't they know that "Dakota" means "friend"? Why call a warship "friend"? And this will just make the Dakota the mascot of the crew of that boat. Where's Ron His Horse is Thunder to stop this injustice to his people? A warship. A sports team.
  4. Winner!
  5. What would you call the reserve players on the team? Spare Change.
  6. So he's a liar, a conniver, and a sneak. He's sly, devious, cunning, and not to be trusted. And all at age 15. They can have him.
  7. A 15-year-old kid. He'll change his mind again tomorrow, but he'll be screwed 'cause he signed in the Q. You don't learn unless you make a mistake here and there. He'll learn from this.
  8. So what's the discussion here: - they want to pick? - they want a say? - they want veto power? They want to be involved. That's all the notion someone else put forth also. When it comes to a new moniker I'm guessing it'll end up being the "Golden Rule."
  9. Wichita and Palo Alto (Stanford) are within about 0.2 degrees of latitude (with Wichita being further north). Wichita is further south than the southernmost Big Te(leve)n school (Illinois: Urbana-Champaigne). Basically, if you're above the latitude of the Mason-Dixon line ... y'all ain't playin' for an NCAA baseball champ-een-ship.
  10. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please. The first folks to float the notion that the tribes should have "say" in selection of a potential new nickname were ... the tribes, through their United Tribes board. Heck, "if you think you might be getting a little power, try to grab all you can," seems to be their motto. And then complain when it really is given to you (like Ron His Horse is Thunder) seem to be their action plan.
  11. A lot like hockey: Whip the hard rubber thingy at the guy in the wrong color jersey who's wearing the big pads and hope it goes into the net. OK, OK, real rules.
  12. Continually, and recently. But I'm just one. If you're serious step up and send a message also.
  13. The supporters win one thing: Not having to listen to their non-sense ever again. The anti- folks will get something they didn't expect: Banishment to the realm of inconsequentiality.
  14. No citing where that notion came from?
  15. That's a low-hanging fruit guess for two reasons: - My blog was written before USHL protected lists came out (with Cichy and Bruneteau on them) and before Forney's departure was announced. You got to cheat off of that. - About two weeks after my blog (at Sioux Boosters in Fargo according to my sources), Hak said those four forwards are coming in. To me the only remaining question (given Kozek staying) is Finley; however, I'm guessing Big Joe stays.
  16. More proof of what I've said for a while: Ron His Horse is Thunder = Kim Jong Il Go Cavalry.
  17. Hockey in HD makes hockey on television.
  18. I know this is crazy to ask, but do folks think about trivial things like having a center on each line? I sure am glad Hakstol does.
  19. Looked just fine in NBC HiDef (and sounded fine in Dolby surround too). About FSSN: They just need to change the filter/polarizer on the main camera at REA. When they do that they could get one of those remotely operated cameras for the red line and eliminate the small camera box between the two team benches.
  20. Fienhage? Knowledge or speculation? I'd guess Andrew MacWilliam (AJHL experience) over the guys who played Minnesota HS (Fienhage, Gleason) last year.
  21. How ever will Ryan Duncan survive on a team without a guy named Stafford, Zajac, Toews, or Oshie? PS - Duncan was third in league scoring out there that year, behind a guy named Andrew Kozek. Shouldn't the same (or maybe more) questions apply?
  22. He's quiet. He's humble. He leads by example. He shows up every night. He does the job in front of him. He shows up in headlines and pictures ... with a Hobey Baker Award. Hang a "C" on him. Tell the rest to learn from the model.
