Your lifetime? You? Sorry Dave, this isn't all about you. Let's talk about what we are reallly talking about: The University of North Dakota. It has run with no moniker, with Flickertails, with "NODAKS" on the basketball uniforms, with "Sioux", with "Fighting Sioux", and with more logos than I'll try to recall. The "identity" has changed before, but it also hasn't changed depending on how you look at it, because it has always been The University of North Dakota through all that. So Dave, if this is all about "your lifetime" I guess I'd worry about your feelings being hurt. This is about The University of North Dakota and what decision (ugly as it could come to be) is best for it.

They need to look at how they seed this. PIT and PHI and are getting hosed and NJD gets a big break. I think the seeding should be by points (with division winners only guaranteed a spot in the eight teams, not the top three seeds). I think it should be: NYR, PIT, PHI, BOS, NJD, FLA, WAS, OTT. and VAN, STL, NAS, DET, CHI, PHX, SJS, LAK

I don't know how Tom Ward doesn't have the inside track in Mankato. As far as named for UND if Eades did leave: Brad Berry.

I think Bradley's biggest issue was the change in the size and speed of guys coming at him from HS to JUCO to DI-AA.

Would UND go back to a physical speed and skating game instead of the cycle game? Under the current rules speed trumps cycle. BC proves that playing fast and speed wins.

Everyone remembers when Dave Hakstol got caught "gesturing" toward an official during a game. It was caught on live television. Well, in reality, he one-upped himself. But few noticed. Deep down inside I still believe the NCAA came after UND as hard as it did just as much for the moniker as for having Ralph Engelstad build such an amazing facility as he did for UND Hockey. (The zealots at the NCAA are human, and very jealous.) Well, Dave complied with the NCAA's "no logo, no moniker" edict, but he also got to give another message to the NCAA by his choice of headgear while at the West Regional. I'm thinking Dave Hakstol "flipped the bird" on television again, not to an official but to the entire NCAA this time, but this time very few recognized and understood his real message. Masterfully played, David. Masterfully played.

If Chicago could trade Kane and a second-pair defenseman for a top pair defenseman and a second-line scorer, I think they'd be wise to do it. UND has been precluded from "taking care of it themselves" since December 2000. That's when the SBoHE took the issue. When the SBoHE tried to do something about it, Al Carlson precluded them. The milk is spilled. Quit trying to fix the blame. Fix the problem. So 'johnson', what's the solution?
