  1. You don't want to try that tactic with me. There was a fight. You were MIA.
  2. More animal references do not construct a counter argument to fact.
  3. Yup, UND does. To me it's frustrating that UND is basically two plays (drop in the endzone v. NIU; any type of QB play on last drive v. Fresno State) from having two FBS wins. Full disclosure: UND has a serious mental block inside the Kibbie Dome.
  4. If all (except the target) Big Sky presidents vote to oust a member, that member is ousted. Period. Next. Question.
  5. I live in the here and now. The here and now is the NCAA policy is active and remains in place: no home playoff games. I'm not going to jeopardized UND on speculation about potential Spirit Lake success in court. I wish them well; I'll help their efforts; I won't set UND up for failure if they fail.
  6. No matter how I try not to, every time I read "Slingbox" I still get this mental image ...
  7. Right now (admittedly things can and do change quickly), in Massey's rankings of teams ... obviously omitting teams not of interest ... NDSU Northern Illinois Northern Iowa Sam Houston State San Diego State Wyoming Montana Georgia Southern San Jose State Minnesota Bowling Green Illinois State Montana State If UND plans to challenge for Big Sky titles against Montana and Montana State and wants to play with the big boys of FCS, yes, they should, dare I say must, be competitive with the FBS teams on their upcoming schedules.
  8. 60"? 65". Plasma.
  9. Another way the focus on outreach course delivery is important: UND named Top 3 military-friendly school in the nation for delivery of online education http://und.edu/news/2012/01/top-three-military-friendly-school-in-nation.cfm 1. Wisconsin 2. Iowa State 3. North Dakota
  10. Forget all of the other speculation and noise. What part of "NCAA sanctions: No home playoff games" do people not understand?
  11. Newspapers are a group that didn't initially embrace the changing technology. Some are finally adjusting to it. But even with adjustments even the old guard newspapers are struggling mightily. (The NYT lost $40 million in 2011. Ouch.) Here's a question: When's the last time you purchased, sat down, and read an actual ink and pulp newspaper? The answer changes radically based on age group. Older folks and retirees probably still have daily delivery. (Full disclosure: I have weekend-only delivery.) Younger folks: "Ink? Paper? Huh? Why? It's on my smart phone. And I'd rather spend the money for a double shot in my latte." Knowing that, would you still prefer UND only release information by phone call or fax to just the GF Herald, or have an advanced website like UNDSports.com that everyone including media can reach to.
  12. This thread needs to be updated to show the addition of a game against San Jose State in 2014.
  13. NDSU thinks they have a shot at another title run. Why play a monster like OU and risk getting some key, season-ending injuries. And they'd rather play FBS games that they have a shot at winning. Can't blame NDSU for that either.
  14. Sure that's an interesting fact, but what does it mean in context to Seth Jones? Would Jones see that as a plus or a minus? And thus completes today's lesson on the difference between "knowledge" and "wisdom".
  15. When I say "Comcast" am I talking about Comcast Cable Comcast the Internet Service Provider Comcast Sports Net When I say "Midcontinent" am I talking about Midcontinent Cable Midcontinent the Internet Service Provider Midcontinent Sports Net That's the direction all this is going. RE: Radio. Sure terrestrial radio still exists, but it's been heavily damaged in terms of listenership (aka advertising revenue) by satellite radio and internet radio products like Pandora or SlackerRadio. And with Pandora or Slacker you don't even per se need the internet if you have a smart phone and a cell provider. Again, that's the direction all this is going. It's all data. The delivery mechanisms are changing and will continue to change.
  16. Just reading around the board this morning I see this thread, and the over in Community I see this old thread: http://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/16591-new-it-center/ And I say to myself .... hmmm ...
  17. It's on the schedule. It's a game that the defense should win on its own. It's a game that the offense should use to figure out what works. But it's also a late enough date that it's not going to change. Make lemonade.
  18. And if UND keeps the moniker the NCAA and many of the schools we'd like to keep seeing on our schedules will give us raspberries. Like the letterhead used to say: the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. University of North Dakota first. Fighting Sioux second. If one has to go ...
  19. "Saint" Luke Schluessner is doing well as a recruiter. He's one of our youngest. He wouldn't be a bad guy to lead the overall efforts. And maybe they're looking to get some additional younger faces out there, like Danny Freund.
  20. I know a guy with one of these. He sings its praises. http://www.roku.com/
  21. I have laptops with HDMI or DisplayPort connections. I run that to the HDMI input on one of the big monitors/televisions in my house to watch ESPN3 all the time. If you're running Windows 7 it's literally plug in the cable and change the input on the monitor.
  22. The Big Sky has "Big Sky Television": http://www.bigskyconf.com/sports/2009/8/14/BigSKYTV81509.aspx Who says the NCHC can't set something similar up? A lot of dust can settle in 18 months.
  23. The Big Sky has "Big Sky Television": The Big Sky Conference has teamed with America One (formerly B2 Networks) to bring you this season's action. Fans can enjoy all football, volleyball, men's and women's basketball games played in Big Sky venues for free. http://www.bigskycon...SKYTV81509.aspx If the NCHC set up something like that for hockey, wouldn't that be a step up? As far as not wanting to watch on a computer monitor, don't most of us have a laptop with an HDMI or DisplayPort connection? Most new televisons have an HDMI input so connecting a PC to a television is plug-and-play. I watch ESPN3 (from Midcontinent Cable) from my laptop to a big monitor all the time. Having said all that, I'm reserving judgement on all of this until all the dust settles.

  25. Please do not feed the one-trick pony. Thank you.
