The topic had shifted to how the meaning of words to describe political beliefs had changed, and I thought I would add to the discussion.

George Bush is responsible for a lot more serious matters than NCAA hockey, unfortunately.

So is our current president, unfortunately.

Let's gack back on topic, please.

INCH names Dave Hakstol Coach of the Year

North Dakota is one of college hockey’s pressure cookers and the fan base, regardless of what has transpired in seasons past, has very little tolerance for mediocrity or even pretty good-ocrity. The folks in Grand Forks expect their hockey team to win; North Dakota did that this past season thanks to a masterful coaching job by Hakstol.

On a related note, the UNDSID posted this stat on twitter

Eight @UNDMHockey players combined to miss 110 games due to injury. UND had fewer than 18 skaters 14 times, yet went 11-3 in those games.

Congrats to Dave. This is well deserved. He and his staff and his senior leaders did a remarkable job considering the hurdles we faced.

This is deserved since this year Hak showed he was a great coach with a great staff in lieu of a good coach and a good staff. On a side note could Mario have been the best captain at UND ever? Think about it for a minute. Somebody past the coaches was the leader in the locker room and got a bunch of guys to believe in themselves and never give up. There have been many championships in the past, and great teams, but this year may have been the best team ever. Going 40-8 or winning championships does not make the best team.

As a fan, it was an extremely fun year. Dave proved again just how good he is, and the boys have a lot to be proud of.
