Nice start for the boys to build the confidence. Need a good week of practice so we can bring home our first win next Saturday night!

I would say

1st Star - Kaip 3G

2nd Star - Trupp 1G, 1A, Great hustle play.

3rd Star - Walski, stabilized our goaltending when the score, if not the game, was still close.

Wasn't at the game, but heard Marto looked pretty good at defense, what are your people thoughts about his play? I see Marto playing a lot and see maybe Jones sitting or someone at forward being a scratch. People on this years squad will be battling for spots, should be interesting.

I might eat my shoe if that were to happen. Marto may be ready, but barring injury I don't see him playing much until next season.

I find it interesting that you'd sit one of our better defensive defensemen. Why do you think that?

Boys didn't look as conditioned in the 3rd as they're going to need to be. Good things it's only the first game of the year and we have time to get into that kind of game shape!

AZ you are wrong on this - Marto looked like a veteran & Lapointe looked liked the rookie & was stiff in comparsion (I hate to burst your bubble but jake could skate circles around him & still beat him to the other end)

ok...i could care less weho can skate circles. i want the best d man out there and hak will decide that. and i dont care if its lapoint or marto, the better player will get the nod so that leaves someone out. i trust haks decision so til next saturday.

I thought Lapoint played VERY well. He didn't get too aggressive on D, just did what he was supposed, and also he made some very good passes. Size-wise Lapoint is better as well. It will be hard to convince a lot of homers on here about that.

I just got back from the game and yes marto looked better then lapoint. lapoint looked confused at times but does have nice size and good speed i liked marto's ability to jump up into the play and get back into position. I also think oshie played amazing some of the moves he made/ almost made were very impressive and chorney looked realy good to kaip with a nice one timer and trupp with a snipe and a good back checking play. I also thought that kozek played well as did brad miller. and is it time to start labeling forney as a bust? :
