TheLillah Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Tough games for the 2 and 3 teams this week. Northwest plays UNO at Omaha and North Dakota plays FCS Southern Utah at Cedar City. So I ask which win would be more impressive. The Bearcats winning in Omaha or UND winning on the road against the bottom-dwelling SUU Thunderbirds? Quote

So I ask which win would be more impressive. The Bearcats winning in Omaha or UND winning on the road against the bottom-dwelling SUU Thunderbirds? Omaha winning at NWMS would be very impressive. UND may have its toughest three-game stretch upcoming: @ SUU CWU @ the AL @ WWU With the way favorites have been falling, we need to keep our humility and not get overconfident. Quote

SiouxMD Posted September 17, 2007 Author Posted September 17, 2007 Week 4 #3 - CollegeSportsReport.com No team in the top #6 lost this weekend. But...the previous #1 drops to #6 and previous #6 rises to #1. These guys are clowns. Quote
Diggler Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Well at least Delta dropped from #1. They beat freaking Harding 9-6 this weekend and then got in a brawl after the game. This guy seems to have something against GVSU. Quote

rochsioux Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I'm not sure why anyone pays attention to Massey ratings. In the DII Massey, GVSU is currently #11. Sure. Massey tries to do the same with hockey across divisions. The final top 10 last year: 1. Manhattanville 2. Minnesota 3. Notre Dame 4. BC 5. Neumann 6. Oswego St. 7. UND 8. St. Norbert 9. Mich St 10. Elmira GVSU is only #11 in the watered down BCS version of the rankings. The real Masseyrating, which includes Margin of Victory, places GVSU #1 and UND #2. Also, there isn't really any intermingling of DI and DIII in hockey so it isn't really fair to be critical of those ratings. If there were more interdivisional games, I am sure they would be properly ranked. Quote

UND-1 Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 On Dan Hammers show today, he said UND just got the #1 ranking in the country. Along with NDSU getting the #1 in FCS. Where is that poll? Any link? Quote
Diggler Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 That would be weird to me. UND barely escapes a game against Mankato while GVSU destroys Mercyhurst and UND moves up? Quote

UND92,96 Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 The regional poll hasn't been released yet, but I'm going to guess it will be 1. UNO; 2. UND; 3. GVSU. I don't think GVSU can possibly have a high enough strength of schedule right now to get the number one ranking. Remember, this is supposed to be based almost entirely on a numerical formula, with little to no human element involved. Quote
