Some friendly jabs are a norm for visitors, but being physical is ridiculous! Maybe these videos have been around for a while, but they are new to me. I actually had a buddy of mine tell me that he won't come to a game up here because his buddies have been treated so bad here. Personally I think it happens all over the place. 1 or 2 drunken slobs on video, does not represent the rest of the Gopher fans. Regrettable, stupid behavior. BUT: you're ASKING for trouble wearing your team's jersey in an opposing arena's STUDENT section (where you DID NOT have tickets to!), and should know better. Siouxdonyms Posted April 25, 2007 Share Posted April 25, 2007 Not all threads have to pertain to Sioux hockey, and it states clearly in the thread title that it has nothing to do with Sioux hockey. As mentioned, every building has this type of fans. It seems like people go out of their way to try to convince everyone how bad Gopher fans treat opposing fans. I've seen some really bad Gopher fans, but some really classy Gopher fans. Some of the classy Gopher fans even post on this site. I've also seen some really bad Sioux fans, and some really classy Sioux fans. Every fan base has them, and in reality, it's highly likely that the bad fans will be students. I'm not saying all students are bad fans, but some students definitely like to start crap with opposing fans. As for clips like this, I always hope that the parents of these kids get a chance to view their kids online, and see how they're behaving in public. I'll admit, I did some dumb things when I was their age, and I'm very glad that my mother did not see my behavior. Kids will be kids and they'll eventually grow up. Most of them become classy fans, but not all of them. Just don't see any reason to point out Gopher fans when in reality, you could go to any building on any given night with a video camera, and get footage of similar behaviors of the home teams fans. It goes both ways as every fan-base has these types of individuals but i love to see goofer fans in the spotlight acting like complete idiots. i wish i had f(l)ag-guy on camera after the Friday game in Yucki when the Sioux won.
