PCM Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Obvious high stick or cross check on a scoring chance, as opposed to the very weak neutral ice hook called on Duncan. Can't have it both ways, although it appears the gophs can. That's exactly what I was thinking. Call a neutral-ice hook, but then don't call anything on a breakaway scoring opportunity? That's BS. It is a rare occasion you don't see that penalty called on a near breakaway. Refs call it out of instinct...hopefully the refs will make it up on a questionable call in the 2nd. Quote

The Whistler Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 If anyone's watching FSN, their period break show is first rate. I haven't seen the taped Hobey wrap-up for at least 24 hours. Wasn't Sweeney available at least? Well if their taped Hobey wrap up was worth a crap. Two of Norton's picks sucked this weekend (Currey (spelling?) and Goepfart) while Hensick showed himself a moron even though he had a very good game. Quote
A.B.T.G. Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 What would we do without the Gopher voice of objectivity to guide us? Gophers never commit penalties..... Or is it Ref's only call 1 in 5 infractions against them..... Quote
Sioux fan since '90 Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I bet when they go back to Mike Hall again they talk about the goalies again for the hobey. HA! HA! HA! Like geopfert's going to win the award. DUNCAN FOR HOBEY!!!! Quote

Norton's is almost as ignorant as a gophers fan.....almost.... Quote
The Whistler Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I hate these NCAA commercials. Are they saying that a female hockey player can punch a hole in the plexiglass? I don't think we've seen any male player do that. Quote

Sioux fan since '90 Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 What commercial was this and what channel? I missed it. right now, i'm watching a commercial about student athletes Quote
Sioux_Hab-it Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Despite my bad spelling, I try to be fair and honest with hockey. The fact that you are here instead of GPL suggests that you got axed and had no where else to go. What happened, did you spell Maryoochie wrong? Quote
pstar Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I'm here and in GPL. Gotta love both opinions. Quote
ScottM Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 They also show that there is checking in women's hockey...... And they speed up the action too. I think there's a deceptive trade practice here ... Quote
PCM Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Despite my bad spelling, I try to be fair and honest with hockey. Just looked at the play frame-by-frame. Oshie had the speed and the angle. The only reason Peltier was able cut him off was by getting his stick in front of Oshie and hooking him up high with it. That's why his lower body kept going and his upper body fell backward. BS call on a legitimate scoring oportunity. Quote
The Whistler Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I went back and looked at the penalty. It was one of those grab the stick and hold it up by your head to draw the penalty. Quote
The Whistler Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Power Play for the Sioux. Hooking on flynn. No replay of course. Quote
Sioux_Hab-it Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I'm here and in GPL. Gotta love both opinions. Oh Okay I understand come here for the hockey info. So what direction is the hair rinse debate taking on GPL this evening. Quote
PCM Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I went back and looked at the penalty. It was one of those grab the stick and hold it up by your head to draw the penalty. Sorry, but it wasn't. There was no reason for Oshie to do that. He had the speed and the angle. Quote
The Whistler Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Sorry, but it wasn't. There was no reason for Oshie to do that. He had the speed and the angle. No the penalty on Duncan. Sorry I should have been clearer. Quote
PCM Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 No the penalty on Duncan. Sorry I should have been clearer. Yes, I agree on that. Dunc's penalty was a legit call. Quote
neoflex Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Holy crap....that was a terrible call...let these guys play hockey Quote
