Sioux_Hab-it
Welcome Joe, Alot of so called experts thought you were going to the ahem, cough, sputter, choke, Gophers. However, you have made the right choice for your hockey career.
AZSIOUX
looks like he played with ness from roseau on a usa select camp team in 2006, lets land ness along with gleason!!! http://www.usahockey.com/servlets/FileServ...Team%20Blue.doc heisenberg thinks very highly of this kid http://westerncollegehockey.blogspot.com/ North Dakota got a huge commitment from Edina defeneseman Joe Gleason. Gleason is very fast and loves to rush the puck up the ice. I think he's got a world of talent.

Smoggy
didnt joe finley come from edina? Yup, but I think this kid would've been a freshman when Joe was a senior. So probably not a ton of interaction. But maybe Joe was a factor.

He looked a little taller and skinnier than he did last summer. I'd guess he's about 5'11" 170 now.

siouxnami
Great pickup, this kid can really fly. He was putting on a skating clinic at the State Tournament against Grand Rapids. It is VERY likely that Joe will be a 2009.

Doc Holliday
Gleason is pretty much the exact opposite style player of Finley. Good to see Edina's producing all types of defensemen. Quick scouting report for Sioux fans: very fast, very quick, very good shot. Still a bit raw defensively....is a much more offensive type defenseman. With a defensive type player, that can be hidden a bit. I figured he'd be much more suited in a Minnesota, St. Cloud, or Colorado College style. But it's a good pickup for the Sioux. He'll be good and his speed will cause nightmares for WCHA defensemen. As for Budish, Minnesota has the same thing going for them that North Dakota does with Ness: dad was a former U athlete (football letterwinner). If I had to guess, I'd bet Budish will be Minnesota bound, but nothing to base that on other than a hunch. Good pickup for the Sioux....I won't like watching him play against the Gophers much. The Sicatoka
Given the size and style of play, dare I say "Robbie Bina's blueline replacement"?
siouxnami
What I find exciting about this is that after watching Genoway skate this last weekend, you forget how much a mobile defensman can add to transition. We do not have a defensive recruit right now that doesn't have offensive upside (I guess I'm not sure about Marto). LaPoint, Blood, and Gleason are all good offensive players. It's still nice to have a Smaby, Green, Commodore, or Finley around though.
