AZSIOUX
sorry if already mentioned INCH'S ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM and weekend preview No. 8 Minnesota State at No. 3 North Dakota UND: 19-12-5 (13-10-5 WCHA) MSU: 13-17-6 (10-13-5) Season Series: UND leads 3-0-1 Maverick Fact: Minnesota State is making its 10th appearance in the WCHA playoffs and has advanced to the Final Five twice, having beaten Alaska Anchorage in 2000 and Wisconsin in 2003. Fighting Sioux Fact: In four games versus the Mavericks this season, North Dakota scored 25 goals, including scoring eight twice. How MSU Wins: There were five game disqualifications between these two teams when they met once earlier this season, which might give one an indication of the Mavs' game plan: muscle the North Dakota forwards anytime they consider touching the puck. How UND Wins: The Sioux need to get the second and third lines more involved in the offense, to prevent an early exit should that amazing top line get shadowed and shut down. http://insidecollegehockey.com/7Archives/N...7/wcha_0526.htm THE FAVORITE Picked by many to win the league title in the preseason, North Dakota struggled through injuries and inconsistency and was a humble crew when the Fighting Sioux headed east for a holiday tournament. Since that sojourn to New Hampshire in late December, the Sioux are 12-2-4, having taken three points from a visit to resurgent St. Cloud State and having swept Minnesota in Minneapolis. In the trio of Ryan Duncan, Jonathan Toews, and T.J. Oshie, they have the league's (and perhaps the nation's) most lethal top line, and in Philippe Lamoureux they have an experienced goaltender who has notched three shutouts since Jan. 13. North Dakota headed to St. Paul as the third seed last March and won the WCHA playoff title. If you head to that Vegas casino built by the guy who's name is on NoDak's home rink and are one to place a wager, the Fighting Sioux are looking like a good bet. Siouxdonyms
Congrats Dunc's and Taylor! The hype about Oshie and Toews did overshadow Dunc's ability, and he definitely put his name on the radar of every team we play. Not that surprising though to Sioux fans. Anyone who followed this team from Feb-April last year, knew that Dunc's was going to be something special. He played good all last year, but he was one player I definitely noticed dial it up a notch in last year's playoff run. Glad to see the rest of the country was clued in about him. UMhockey
Toews and his 1.40 points per game should be on the first team.

AZSIOUX
Toews and his 1.40 points per game should be on the first team. yeah thats a hell of a number but there is no way they put 3 players from 1 team on a 6 player team no matter if they deserve it or not....oh well, he is still the best player in the nation

That's hard to argue against Goepfert. He's truly been the backbone to that team this year, and will continue to be in the playoffs. In my green shades, I say Dunc's of course, but when I take them off, they're both very deserving.
Fetch
Dunc has been consistently Good & always getting Better - I hope he comes back next yr - Congratulations Ryan & I hope many more good things come your way & Yes............. Taylor looks to be the real deal & I agree he has impressed us & we are confident when he is on the ice - so much so, we tend to take it for granted
siouxpermex
Siouxper, Dunc and Taylor it has been a pleasure watching you guys play the solid type hockey sioux fans love to see. Neither of you get as many accolades as you deserve, maybe it's because you don't have the flash that other players do. Having watched you guys play and seeing the consistency you have night after night, I'll trade it for flash any day. Best of Luck and GO SIOUX. redwing77
I'd probably put Andreas Nodl or even Lasch instead of Trotter. Also, Sports Illustrated On Campus named Ryan Duncan their Most Valuable Player and the WCHA the best league thanks to Ryan Duncan among others. Nodl over Trotter. I'm also bumping Raymond for Morin, and Either Goli or Chorney for Niskenan.
Big A HG
Come Duncan's fourth and final year, I can't wait to hear the ovation he's going to get. What he's done in less than two complete years is just phenomenal for a guy his size and who wasn't highly touted originally.
farce poobah
Come Duncan's fourth and final year, I can't wait to hear the ovation he's going to get. What he's done in less than two complete years is just phenomenal for a guy his size and who wasn't highly touted originally. I used to think it was a given that Duncan would stay four years - I'm not as certain of that anymore. To your point, he is phenomenal. Last night, he triggered two other goals that he didn't get points on, and with all the chances, could just as well had 5-6 points. Also love his work on the PK. Would encourage people to just watch him in isolation sometime - he's always in the right spot, and reads plays really well... I like his defense nearly as much as his offense. redwing77
Be certain, Duncan is a great player but he doesn't really translate into the NHL. They said the same thing about Martin St. Louis. And it didn't stop Buffalo from wasting a 5th(?) round draft choice on Nathan Gerbe. I understand what you are trying to say and I'm not all that certain Duncan will make the NHL, but even if he doesn't I agree with AZ in that I'm sure some team will give him a shot. I only hope to god it is a team that runs a fast paced, high octane offense like Ottawa or Buffalo or Detroit and not some boring team like Dallas or Minnesota (though lately they've actually tried to be dynamic). siouxnami
I'd give ROY to Lasch (over both Trotter and Nodl), because I'm not a big fan of 20 year old rookies.
