buckysieve Posted June 13, 2006 Share Posted June 13, 2006 I have no idea about his parents but there are no conflicts with his current teammates. I just read an article on Kessel a couple weeks ago(I don't remember which publication, someone posted a link to it on a message board) and one of the things the author talked about was Kessel's superb work ethic. I guess it just depends on who's doing the writing and what his opinions are because there are certainly some differing opinions out there. The more he falls in the draft the better chance he'll come back for one more season I would think, so this is all good news for Gopher fans. That said, I'll be shocked if he falls out of the top five. He's just to talented to pass up. I think Toews, Kessel, and Johnson will all go in the top three. The guy is incredibly talented, but for some reason everyone is looking for reasons not to draft him. Much like every year in NFL draft where one player is just ripped into for everything he doesn't do perfectly, Kessel is being downgraded for every little thing. Instead focusing on all he can do, people are focusing on what he can't do. It's moronic. Heck the same thing happened to Parise, though to a lesser extent. Then again, I hope every underestimates Kessel and continues to look for reasons not to draft him. Then the Wild can steal him at #9. Then the Wild can steal him at #9. i agree diggler 110%, the kid can flat out play. wasn't it last year when some gm's around the nhl would say they would have taken him over crosby (now thats plain azz CRAZY) but he is gifted for sure. he wont get by the coyotes tough if he slips to #8.......... Potulny, Irmen, Chucko, and possibly Kessel and Johnson. We've taken some hits and we might not be done. Wheeler and Goligoski are even possible risks although they're probably long shots to leave.
