Uncle_Rico
Two examples of North Dakota's bizarre obsesion with their rivals: 1) Two words: Holy Cross. I'd expect Sioux fans to be happy to see the Gophers lose, but the level of enthusiasm over this game is beyond belief. Very SCSU and Duluth like of them. 2) North Dakota State's victory over Wisconsin in men's basketball. The petty jealousy throughout the Grand Forks city limits due to the national exposure that NDSU received from that win was very strange, to say the least. But if UND fans could just for once take off their green and white glasses and realize that not everything is about them, they'd see that people around the country didn't think twice about ND's little Div. II college up in grand Forks when talking about the NDSU/UW b-ball upset. You know, Pooper has a point...........................................On the top of his head. The Gophers are UND's biggest rival, will come up a fair amount, and the jabs won't be pro-Gopher -- if you're more comfortable with your Gopher talk including anti-UND and anti-Wisconsin jabs, just go to a pro-Gopher message board. The reason it takes over threads is because any offhand dig at the Gophers results in pages of whining. ALL you talk about, and I mean ALL you talk about is your hatred towards Minnesota. Further, why do the Gopher fans who obsess over the amount of Gopher talk here always use such grandiose lies and exaggerations? The Gophers are discussed in 3 threads of the first 20, and UND fans were complimentary and excited for an N.D. team to do well when NDSU knocked off Wisconsin. Sheesh. This discussion is done. Seriously. If you want to gloat more about the Western Regionals, do it in a Western Regionals thread. If you want to bitch about how mean Sioux fans hurt your feelings, go somewhere else. If you want to get suspended, try to continue this discussion here...
Prpichrocks_19
If it is going to come down, wouldn't it be great if they had ONE last game in the building - Sioux current vs. former players with the proceeds going to some charity or something. I would drive for miles to see that game! That would be amazing!! I think they should do that!! I remember t 2 years ago they had the current team(at the time) play against each other and Commodore was the ref!! It was amazing!!!! andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!!
I would definitely like to see one last game played at the old Ralph. It is even kind of sad that it might be torn down; but it is just taking up space right now as far as I know. I wonder what kind of shape it is in to play hockey though? The only way it could ever happen would be to strip all the doors, leave the place open to the elements and freeze about twenty sheets of water in there. Then wait for the coldest snap of the last thirty years, pack the place, and drop the puck. Wonder how the ice would hold? A sad day, but The Olde Ralph is toast. Siouxmama
I don't even think they have the ability to make ice anymore. Haven't they stripped out the mechanics of the arena?

Some one also told me that the boards are in one of the arenas in town, I believe the Serge.
