And I heard we went after him too but he chose Denver.

Berry running things into complete unclutch mediocrity made that decision quite easy for him.

I heard direct from a player that it was because of Berry why he went to Denver

Denver had the inside track though as Pohlkamp was on the world junior team that Carle coached.

Wisconsin had Buckberger committed at one point

Had Buckberger committed, end of the Tony Granato Era led to him decommitting & flipping to Denver.

Epperson (Mequon Wisconsin) was likely pursued hard by the Badgers but he was likely turned off by the Granato Era, committed to Michigan, was underwhelming at the NTDP, signed in the O before the rules change, CHLers then get NCAA eligibility, and he commits to Denver.

Speaking for CC fans, it is just unreal how our program just an hour south can’t even make the tournament.

The big problem was Owens should have left two years earlier and that disaster of a coach Haviland that did to CC that happened to Wisconsin and Michigan State.

CC is basically going through a Coyotes type rebuild.

Haviland set the program so far back, not sure if any coach could have quickly resuscitated it. Unlike Denver where a coach leaves and the new coach inherits a solid team.

Mayotte just got a pay raise and a five year contract extension. It’s time he put up. Was really hoping they would’ve gone after the Gwoz either after Owens left or after Haviland.

Just takes one bad hire and you can spend a decade trying to get back to the top.

CC use to be fast skilled teams until the brothers left.

The fact that Colorado College hasn't made the tournament since 2011 is mind boggling

Incompetent AD was buddies with Haviland. AD went on to Maine and helped continue to lead their malaise.

Mayotte did screw up last year and I'll say he should have played the backup more this year too. Mbereko needed to take nights off but they didn't play Musser and he left to play more and he was pretty good.

I'd say the seat is starting to get hot in CC and winning the Gold Pan can help keep it cold.

Agreed. I think he burned Mbereko out down the stretch. That and they have had discipline issues on the ice. Take way too many dumb, costly penalties.

Unger was better than his record showed and played better than Mbereko. Unger should have played both games against Denver in 1st round

I wonder if Notre Dame wishes they’d have been more accommodating and willing to be a team player and had signed on to join the NCHC.

Honestly, I'm starting to think CBSSN had an issue more than the NCHC did

I am still kinda down we lost Thursday. We need to get there again next year and finish the job

I also still feel down in the dumps after Thursday too. I wish it was us winning tonight.  @SiouxFan100 I also hope we make the frozen four next year too!
