We saw that pay benefits last night with Zmolek getting a huge goal on the rush and Wiebe scoring a nice one as well. I will say there is a time and place though. No need to go all in when up by 2 and under 5 minutes left, and better know if someone is in position to cover you. We gave up a ton of odd man rushes last weekend which teams with elite talent would have exploited more. Hopefully guys become better at situational awareness when jumping into the rush. Zmolek’s mantra should be that of the Dos Equis guy, “I don’t jump in the rush often, but when I do…”! 2 Quote
Godsmack Posted Sunday at 06:03 PM Posted Sunday at 06:03 PM I gotta give the CC coaching staff some props-picking up Mats Lindgren to try and replace the offensive skill they lost early in the season when Burkholder went down. That guy was noticeable all weekend long. Particularly impressive given, according to Mayotte in the post game interview last night he said he hadn’t played in 7 months. 1 Quote
Godsmack Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I found it interesting that Homer hung out during play in the penalty box/tunnel area. I kept noticing only Sandy on the bench. Perhaps not enough room for everyone. Quote

I noticed him on the first penalty on Saturday standing the background. Quote
dustnyou Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Have they been bringing three goalies on the road all year? Maybe I’ve just missed this until last weekend. Quote

Yeah that's interesting. I thought during conference play you were limited to how many players you can bring on the road. Only way all goalies would travel if other players were injured and stayed home. Quote
Godsmack Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago After now watching the Saturday game on tv, I question why Mayotte would challenge UND’s first goal, especially given his comments following Friday’s game when he said he definitely would’ve challenged Strinden’s tying goal had he had a challenge available. You’d think he would want to have a very high degree of confidence that he would win that challenge. My understanding is that you can angle your skate and it’s still a good goal, you just can’t make a clear kicking motion, which James clearly did not do. 1 Quote
Godsmack Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I also notice that CC fans will boo and heckle the refs on each and every penalty the refs call on the Tigers, no matter how obvious the call is. The CC announcers even acknowledged the obvious, lazy holding penalty called on Stuart late in Saturday’s first period. Is this common for every fan base? Stuart let go of his own stick behind his net and wrapped it around Rechney, within a few feet of the official. It doesn’t get much more obvious than that. Quote

ASU boos them when they come out for warmups, but everything to them is not a penalty on them and a penalty on who they play. You blow on a player they want a penalty lol. 1 Quote
