In a Schloss podcast right after Reschny and Verhoeff committed, he mentioned that there was an elite level prospect that reached out to his agent a couple hours later and said he wanted to go to North Dakota as well. It was rumored to be Carels. Anyone know if this is presumed to be true? I know all these top level CHL guys seem to keep things close to the vest so I'm guessing we don't hear much of anything until there seasons are over again. 1 Quote

Everyone on this board has said with 80% confidence that it was Carels. Could have been others though Given the timing of Zurawski committing to Notre Dame yesterday, you could see more commitments made over the holiday break when kids are off school. Many will of course wait till season's end to make decisions, as Martone, Reschny, Verhoeff, Smith, McKenna did last year. 1 Quote

There is a non zero chance that one of Livanavage or Wiebe returns for their senior season. If both are gone, which is likely, there is a clear opening in the top 4 for him to play with Verhoeff or Emery. I highly doubt any of the top Canadian targets commit before their season is done. Especially after Schloss said in a podcast last week that he has heard that none of the top WHL defenseman are far along in their college recruiting and close to committing somewhere. UND will have a way better idea of who is gone next year before their recruitment ramps up. 2 Quote

He will likely be a top 45 pick and has been more productive than any other forward recruit outside of Simpson. Having 10 underclassmen this year may limit their flexibility this offseason if they all return. Reschny is probably the only guy that could potentially sign. Watched Williams last night and to me it looks like he needs a lot more time in the weight room to be ready for college. Have to watch more before any real conclusions can be drawn, but didn’t see a lot of dog on bone, but a lot of coasting. Can’t judge him on one performance though, and you could definitely see the skill. I see that Chyzyk is out not only recruiting, but determining who is ready to come in, so I’m sure they will make the right judgements and let people know what the expectations are for improvement in order for them to make the jump. Looking forward to see future games to track his progress. 1 1 Quote

Williams will naturally get bigger over the next 9 months but he’ll definitely need to put on 5-10 extra pounds to be ready for college, whether that’s next year or the year after. Being over 6 feet and under 160 ponds is very lean. Bryn stated in his press conference this week that he will be at the World Juniors over break. I would guess that he primarily is supporting current players or committed recruits but it also is a good opportunity for him to interact with Carels, Steiner, etc. while they are away from their CHL teams. Having Reschny, Verhoeff, and MacKenzie certainly does not hurt his ability to recruit some of the uncommitted Canadians. 2 Quote

More like “Pimarily recruiting while also supporting current players and commits.” Quote

tnt Posted Monday at 09:07 PM Posted Monday at 09:07 PM Do you think Viggo Bjorck will play college hockey like his brother, or does it just make sense to continue in the Swedish league and then move on to the NHL? I imagine he would go high in the draft this year. Had a great game today. Quote

nascar99 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Filip Ruzicka (2008) has a .913 SV% for the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Dub. He's 6'7. Definitely someone to keep an eye on, would imagine most programs are all over him. Quote
