HockeyMom Posted October 21, 2005 Author Posted October 21, 2005 Almost off to Forks.... Come out and support the Fighting Sioux. DO IT!!!! Quote

82SiouxGuy Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I had to work tonight and couldn't make it to the game. Who won and how did we look tonight? Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 22, 2005 Author Posted October 22, 2005 Sorry, I should have posted that. Quinnipiac went up 1-0 a few minutes into the game....the puck went off of Fingland's skate and Hasbargen couldn't do anything about it. Just one of those things you can't do much about. Carlson was booked early for a checking from behind. Not so sure I agree with the call. But there were a few calls tonight I didn't agree with. Mostly the one's on the blue line. I don't think Storey could even see the blue-line. Fingland looked a little shaky right after the goal, but she turned it around and had a pretty strong performance the rest of the night. First period was tough to watch. Second period was all UND. The penalty kill looked good tonight. Although they could have had a few less penalties. It's still early in the season. Quinnipiac looked pretty fatigued late in the second period. Hasbargen had several nice saves on the night. I missed Quinnipiac's second goal, but it was a PP goal. They pulled their goalie at the end and Bowers had a nice empty net goal. I think that's about it. 4-2 FIGHTING SSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOUUUXXXXXXXXXXX Quote
82SiouxGuy Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Thanks for the update. I am going to try to get to the game tomorrow night. Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 22, 2005 Author Posted October 22, 2005 I think that the coaching staff did an excellent job with their recruiting, the freshman class looks good, so far. That's all I have to say about that. Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 Just got home. 8-4 Sioux swept Quinnipiac. 4 of the Sioux goals were PP goals. I'm tired and I don't know what else to say. I think SOG were like 37-18 in favor of the green and white. Quote
CoteauRinkRat Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I didn't know where else to put this, so I thought I would add it into this thread. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/s...ta/12974839.htm Quote

Slow day at the office? What a stupid article. I like how the write up on the game was a staff report and Kevin Fee took the time to sit down and write about the cover of the media guide......does it have the freshman on the pic before they played a real game in a Fighting Sioux uniform? Oh the humanity of it all! I'd still like to see it. Quote
UND Fan Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I live in North Dakota. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I apologize - that sounded like a question from a stalker. I was just curious how far you have to travel to follow UND sports. I applaud you for your interest and support of UND athletics, particularly women's hockey. Also, thanks for your summaries of the games. Quote

HockeyMom Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/whocke...RELEASE_ID=4203 Freshman Melissa Jaques (Cooks Creek, Man.) was named WCHA Rookie of the Week and Cami Wooster (So., Salvador, Sask.) was named Co-WCHA Offensive Player of the Week. Congrats, ladies. Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 I'm bored. On the road at Wisconsin this weekend. The Badgers are ranked #2 in the nation. I'd be happy as heck with a point out of this series......let alone 2. Anyone not picking the Badgers to sweep? ND has nothing to lose.......and a whole lot of confidence to gain. Some tidbits from the WCHA: Scoring offense: Wisconsin #2 ND #3 Scoring D Wisco #2 ND #8 Penalty Min ND #1 PP ND #1 6/23 Wisco #5 PK ND #3 Wisco #7 Quote
UNDPUCKS Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Hey mom: My family and I are going to make at least one game in Madtown this weekend. We have never seen the women skate, should be fun even though the Badgers are good. The Sioux should have started the women years earlier. GEAUX SIOUX! Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 Have fun, PUCKS. Women's hockey isn't as boring as people seem to think. I've already seen some pretty nice hits in three games. It's something people need to see for themselves. AND I don't think Samantha Bowers will back down to anyone...... Enjoy the game. Hopefully the Sioux can leave Madison with a point.....or more. As for me, I'll be at The Ralph. I have a case of Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade to drink. Quote
UNDPUCKS Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I'm hoping for four point weekend for both Sioux teams. Drink responsibly and go to the Pepper for me. Quote

dakotadan Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Some of my friends and I had originally been making plans to drive down to Madison for the women's games. If UND comes out with an upset I am going to be kicking myself that we didn't go. Quote
HockeyMom Posted October 28, 2005 Author Posted October 28, 2005 I hope you're kicking yourself later today, Dan. Live Stats here: http://www.uwbadgers.com/game_day/archive.aspx?ID=2150 Go Fighting Sioux! I scheduled an appointment at 2. That was thinking..... Quote
dakotadan Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 The ladies are down 0-2 after the first period. Quote
dakotadan Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Samantha Bowers scored in the 2nd period to make it 2-1. Now 6:14 into the 3rd Cami Wooster scored to tie it at 2-2. I may end up kicking myself after all. Let's go ladies!!!! Quote

UND Fan Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Any updates? I see on the Badger website that WS scored with about 5 minutes left to win 3-2. A good showing for our ladies. Goalie must have played well. We were outshot something like 46-23. Quote
