The actual portal doesn't open until April 7th I believe, but I assume that won't stop players from announcing. With the tournament this coming weekend, I would imagine we may see something next week - but I think that is actually spring break week, so many of the players will go home and think about it. I would also assume or hope the coaches have some end of year meetings set up along with off season workouts starting March 16th. That may be the week we officially find out. The portal is only open for 3 weeks this year, so the jumping in period should be fairly quick. Quote

While I agree, were you not the one to point out how many games we've lost since he got his extension in your writeup in the game day thread for the SLT???? Or am I mixing you up with someone else? 1 Quote

You are right, I did mention that and mentioned how the results were not super surprising given where and who (even though SDSU is down) we were playing. Quote

Eli deserves it, as does Greyson. Loved watching Eli throughout his time at UND, played both ends of the floor, played with class, didn't whine at the refs, and worked his tail off. Wish that he had another year. Hope that Greyson stays; he and Eli were two big reasons why UND overachieved in the conference this season. Quote

I think everyone here is happy for Eli and Greyson, and believe they deserve the recognition. Quote

The problem is it seems like we can't help ourselves even if they aren't falling we just keep casting away instead of maybe working for some drives or midrange shots. And trapping the ball is great when it works but if a team like ndsu is red hot from 3 n u keep trapping after 2 passes they have great looks n seems like we can't deviate ever. Cast 3s no matter what and trap no matter what.🤷♂️ On 3/2/2026 at 3:51 PM, UNDDOM said: FWIW....Year-end final stats. Quote

Lets take a look at these stats carefully comparing minutes, Efficiency -Smith Mins 17.7 8.5pts per game. .477fg% highest for all guards free throws 83.8% highest on the team rebs 2.3 3pt% .244 with only 45 attempts, shot 42% coming in from high school. Missing from the stat line are assist and turnovers *key for guards. Facilitates extremely well and gets guys easy shots. Opens the floor! Ulemen had an amazing offensive year! hypothetically speaking smith plays the Pg position and Ulemen plays the shooting guard with that scoring ability what does this back court and team truly look like? I love Smith and do agree that he’s a much better facilitator. He did not trust his shot this year at all, hopefully that comes back. I just don’t know if him and Greyson can truly play together effectively. Greyson is so ball dominant and has such a high usage rate when he touches the ball I just don’t think that plays that well with A3. Quote
GoodGood Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Smith played his role fine. Hard to play him more minutes if you’re throwing a lineup of Smith (24%), Uelman (34%), King (30%), and a 5 that can’t shoot. There’s simply not enough spacing Quote

There’s simply not enough spacing Perhaps that's problematic as a whole being ball dominant as a point guard seeing how Kraft, King and Anderson are better playing off being set up opposed to trying to create shots late in the shot clock that didn't seem to be any of those guys strength. 22 dribbles before a shot oppose to 22 passes can take rhythm guys out of their comfort zones as we saw quite a bit late in the shot clock. Everyone can adjust or should be able to adjust when different guys are in the line up and play to their strenght in particular times of the game. Where are the assists coming from? Who's getting the offense flowing? We all love scoring but for me at the point guard position you cant have more turnovers than assists playing the bulk of the minutes. Quote

There’s simply not enough spacing 106 3s for ulemen, king 129, Anderson 146, and kraft 170, at those percentages I would have to ask myself what type of shots they were taking. Ulemen can create his own shot defending on the type of defense being played. The other 3 guys are better catching and shooting off of kick outs and sets from my observation and I watched every game. There wasn't much chemistry. Quote

Kraft could have been the spark off the bench seeing how he loves to shoot the 3 only and being a questionable defender. Quote
McBuckets Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I guess Im not following this too well. Feel like most of that is based of what half court offense Sather has ran than personal. This team was always going to be limited in the halfcourt which is a major reason they turned up the pressure defensively. @Hawk2a you wanted to see less Greyson at the point and more Smith at the point. So then that means less Kraft minutes? Or where are you taking those minutes from Quote

When Smith is in the game with Ulemen at best slid him over to shooting guard now he's a threat catching and shooting off penetration oppose to still having to expend the same energy looking to score only. Easier shots with a better flow to the game. Quote

But when Smith hits the ground...continually complains to the refs and chirps other players, teams such as NDSU beat us in transition for an easy bucket multiple times...hence why he didn't play in the 2nd half of the bison game. I like him and think he a solid true PG but needs to mature a bit more. I thought the same of Marley C. I think his game grew a lot over the year and was providing some valuable minutes to close out the year. Still not sure why he didn't play the last game, as he had close to 10 rebounds vs Denver on the Friday game. Hopefully smith and curtis twins stay. Quote
UND92,96 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Question--when Smith and Moore played together in high school, who primarily ran the point? I'm assuming Moore? Quote
