shep
First, I'd say that the STs has been MUCH better the last few weeks with blocked punts and most KO returns being stopped before the 25 with UNC fair catching a couple last week. I think that's been a plus. Additionally, Peterson has been a good punter. Yes a kid misses FGs but if you're looking to prove a killer instinct point, it seems last week's D is a better target than kicking. The Sicatoka
16 minutes ago, shep said: Though lets not forget the kicker won a game this year with a same length FG. I hate to bring up "those guys" but how many times have I said, ... "They do not do anything exceptional, but what they do they do exceptionally well." You just proved my point: The kick was in scope, but missed this time. Where's the remove-all-hope mindset from everyone on the team. And before you say I'm bashing Leach, let me take a step back: Why was it 4th and 7? Why wasn't there a first down and continuing drive. We took a sack and then completed a 14 yard pass on 3rd and 20. Execute ... exceptionally well. Set that as the expectation; set that as your system.
UNDBIZ
I'd say giving up a 75 yard TD pass immediately after the blocked punt TD gave UNC more hope than the missed FG did. It was a team effort to allow the game to be close.
