It's official.

The Ralph needs to get the regional more cause I cringe everytime I see Minneapolis, MN with the regional.

While I agree, we are getting the west regional the following year.

I do think the WCHA Final Five needs to rotate between the teams. UAA may be a stretch, but all of the other locations are viable. I'm sure that the Xcel may have a different take.

And, so what if they are smaller venues! Some of the best hockey to be watched is in smaller arenas. $$$

Thanks for the schedule post.

Kinda sucks that UMD played UND 5 times this past season and next season it's only 2 games.

I wanted to come to GF to see UMD/UND.....bummer

The big bummer, although I agree with yours;

15 home games next year vs. 23 this year, ouch.

Consolation, lots of good WJT hockey.

but, there will be that added travel budget for the away games.

home or not, Go Sioux

OK, not to disrespect any programs, and we don't really know who will be good next year until it rolls around, but I would "grade" the difficulty of the various weekends as follows (A being the toughest). The grades are based on my opinion that the competition for the WCHA title will be between UND, UMD, Wisconsin, MN and CC. I think MTU, UAA and MSUM will be in the second half of the league next year, even though they might be better than they were this year.

Also of interest is that there are no weekends off until the Christmas and New Year holidays. Then, in the stretch run, UND takes the weekends of January 21 and February 11 off. If the Sioux want to contend for the WCHA title, they will need to have a big lead going into those last few weeks. Also, while there is a risk of losing momentum, those weekends will give the team a chance to heal and rest up going into the playoffs. (Denver lost all of its momentum in the first round of the WCHA playoffs, and they did OK.)

I'm looking forward to coming up and watching the SCSU/UND series in November. I had a lot of fun at The Ralph this past season when I came up. It's fun to watch my two favorite teams play each other.

And, you know, I guess it's nice to run into fans that aren't excessive pricks... *coughGopherscough*

:D I know not all of 'em are, but a good majority are.
