jdub27 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Could it be that we already have 3 point guards in the starting lineup? Pretty much this. I guess the same argument could have been made for Shields but Shanks was out the first half of the year. Surprised he hasn't been able to work his way into the rotation at the 4/5. Quote
the green team Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 De Rouen was 0 0 5 against Montana then put up season high against Montana State - sporatic but at least you can see what he can do. After watching both games on Big Sky it's obvious this team has some great individual talent but they have some jelling to do - lots of mid-conference schools would love to have a 7 foot freshman who appears to have some ability that can be developed. Flip that- he had a career high against Montana in the loss, he fouled out against Montana St, but that's partly because on the radio they said he was having trouble moving due to some severe back problems. Teeder11 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Any mention of Crandall? Somebody has got to know why he is not playing based on how well he did in pre-season. Is it or is it not the players' decision whether they red shirt or not, or is a combination of both coaches' decisions and players'? Thanks in advance if anyone has insight on this. Quote
ArtVandalay Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I think it is safe to assume that Crandall is red shirting. There is no hard and fast rule in determining whether or not to redshirt. It is usually a mutually agreed upon decision between coach and player. Certainly a player can say, "I am not red shirting" but the coach is the one who makes the decision each game regarding who plays. There is no declaration made anywhere before season starts. A coach can look back on the season and see that a certain player didn't play a second. That player would now be eligible to be given a red shirt year. Quote
