Sounds like UNLV is wanting to play in a bigger arena than City National Arena for their first game this year.

I'm always hearing about the Golden Knights building or planning to build a new arena in Vegas. There was the talk between the team and the Golden Knights about an arena closer to UNLV that UNLV would use but was going to cost the team too much.

They've played at the new arena in Henderson in the past.  There are a lot of arenas in vegas already... suprising to me that the Golden Knights would even think about that.

Idk if they played in Lee's Family Forum but I'm very sure they didn't play at the America First Center (Silver Knights practice facility). 

I posted it on here, I want to say the head coach was talking about the arena partnership with the Golden Knights, might have been America First Center when it was being built.

 oops!  My mistake.  I was thinking of the Silver Knights - it was Lee's Family Forum.  They played Alaska Anchorage there actually.

UT Dallas could be an ideal candidate to add hockey.  They don't have football and are in the process of transitioning to D2, and they have an arena project or two on their master plan.

I've been making a list of schools and nearby arenas when I'm bored. For example, the Dallas area schools have two arena options in Allen and Frisco TX.

Really bugs me that hockey and Nevada is never mentioned, whatsoever, in the discussions about the new arena they are building there.

He finally got his tax credit from Reno, I think he has a year or two before the TCC lease is up. 

There are the Reno and Greeley arenas in the planning stage. Northern Colorado in Greeley and Colorado State in Loveland would be a good rivalry if they both did it, we can all dream.

Off campus arenas are not ideal. Only as a placeholder until the on campus arena is built. UNO said until they built Baxter teams recruiting against them won the battles by mentioning they played off campus.

They also practiced off campus though right?  Building a practice arena on campus and playing games off campus would be viable I'd think.  Especially in areas without much hockey, like at BGSU, where the practice arena could also be used as a community rink to generate revenue.  Would be simlar to UND and NDSU for football.

They did; having the arena off campus results in diminished student attendance though, which is detrimental to the atmosphere. Then again, the money spent on an arena could also fund a program-defining NIL war chest for a long time.

For any universities on the fence, the next couple years will be ideal - a once in a blue moon type situation re talent.  

The influx of talent from CHL is/will displace both current players with D-1 experience and future commits from other pipelines like especially USHL .  
 

A chance to get competitive quickly.

The ACHA might benefit the most with player not wanting to go NCAA D3.

I was watching the Steve Dangle Podcast (they were talking about McKenna) and they were talking about it would be cool if there was a Canadian division in the NCAA.

That would require USports teams to significantly upgrade their programs and invest a lot more into their product than they do. Canadian university athletics aren't a big deal in Canada at all compared to the NCAA in the States, and the lack of fan support for USports shows it.

I see too many logistical hurdles for a full blown Canadian invasion of the NCAA. Simon Fraser is the only one who has been an NCAA member, and they're D2.

The Greeley rink is suddenly facing some pretty passionate objections, so not a done deal. And CSU is in Fort Collins, not Loveland.

I know CSU is in Fort Collins, the arena in Loveland is 21 minutes away from the school.
