Hockey East also wasn't happy having Notre Dame and was happy to let them leave.

Also find it hard to believe BGSU wanted in the NCHC when their head coach at the time was very vocal about not being in the NCHC. BGSU might want to be in the NCHC now, but Bergeron was so against the NCHC he just about killed Miami's program (joking about killing Miami's program).

Mankato was never going to get in and if there was a third team to apply when Mankato and Arizona State first applied. Arizona State and that third team would have been in the NCHC. The NCHC went out of their way and asked St Thomas if they wanted to join, and didn't ask Mankato.

Pretty crazy how often you rip Fenton without understanding all the facts.

Notre Dame announced their intention to join Hockey East two years prior to Fenton becoming NCHC commissioner.

and they wanted out of HE and HE wanted them gone too.....Fenton and nhch said no and Big 10 said yes....

mostly ripping benedict fenton for this mvc/mvfc sellout stuff.....

Notre Dame got into Hockey East and immediately started whining about all the travel.  Guess what, most of the Hockey East Teams are nowhere near South Bend, Indiana.  Maybe somebody should have looked at a f*cking map first.

I remember some BC guys saying how they regretted it and were happy to see them gone.

At the State of College Hockey Press Conference, Steve Chapman (Executive VP St. Louis Blues) Alluded to "another University is talking about going D-1." He made it sound like it would be in St. Louis. Maryville and SLU (SLU was a CCHA member from 1971-79) are the two in St. Louis Metro, Missouri, Missouri State, Dury (shares arena with Missouri State), and UMKC (doesn't have a ACHA team).

Maryville is the logical choice on who Chapman is talking about with maybe St. Louis coming back. Maryville plays in a 2,000 seat arena that could be expanded to add a sheet with around 4,000 seats, or Maryville could share The Centene Community Ice Center with Lindenwood. St. Louis plays in both Maryville University Ice Center (Maryville) and The Centene Community Ice Center (Lindenwood). Chaifetz Arena on SLU's campus doesn't have ice making ability.

UMKC has two arenas in the area (T-Mobile Center, and Cable Dahmer Arena) but no ACHA team, so this is highly unlikely. Mizzou needs an arena and would love to see A Walton or Kroenke help fund and build arena for them. There ACHA D2 team looks to be a decent team that moved up from ACHA D3. Missouri State and Dury are the ACHA D1 teams but would need a bigger arena they could share.

If any school makes the jump, I'd put money on it being Mayville.

Oh really?  Did you post it?

It wasn't official but was brought up during the ITHSW podcast (they need to change the name of it) when they interviewed the Blues VP.

Edit: See above

This sets up well for Lindenwood, Tennesse State, and Maryville to be an attractive package for a conference.

it'll be great if "allegiant cities" add d1 hockey and benedict fenton adds them as they come aboard....asu (already in)...tsu and unlv next!

If you could get past the paywall did it mention anything of note?  They get official confirmation?

I can't access it anymore. It talked about how they are expanding the arena with team spaces and practice sheet. Plan is to be D1 in three years and possible women's team.

I'm surprised how everyone missed the Blue's writer post (see above).
