redwing77 Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Greene isn't playing tonight. I think Marvin is playing in his stead.
PCM Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Greene says that he's broken four dozen sticks this season!
schmidtdoggydog Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Great interview. He can't get the feel for the newer sticks despite keeping his hands soft by rubbing lotion on them everynight.
PCM Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 I like how Greene says that he's not complaining about the refs, but he wanted to ring Campion's neck last night.
SiouxTupa Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 The composure/humor/maturity level of Greene really impresses me. He seems so down to earth, no regrets, no sour grapes to the coaches. Really interesting interview. The stick thing is crazy too...but I've heard NHL players that prefer wood sticks.

schmidtdoggydog Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Interesting that Campion told Greene he wouldn't have called the first penalty against him if the same play happened in the third. There is something inherently wrong with that.
flatspin7 Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Shark Bite---- some how I dont think you really want to know.
choyt3 Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Interesting that Campion told Greene he wouldn't have called the first penalty against him if the same play happened in the third. There is something inherently wrong with that. Didn't lil' Shep tell Zach last year that he wouldn't have called a penalty on him if the game had been closer?

I agree. As Blais said at the beginning of the season, he'd talk to the officials about calling obstruction more and they'd talk about where they're going to call it. Apparently nobody has told them that a penalty is a penalty, no matter when or where it happens.

There is something inherently wrong with that. That's like a Police officer pulling you over and saying as he hands you a ticket, "Here is your speeding ticket, sir, but, you know, if you would have been speeding a quarter mile down the road, I wouldn't have stopped you." SiouxTupa: It isn't that uncommon. I /believe/ Al McInnis, Ray Bourque (when he was in the league), and Brett Hull enjoy using wood sticks. However, I'm not certain.
sprig Posted January 18, 2004 Author Posted January 18, 2004 Dora penalized for tripping Parise. 4 on 3 PP as Murray/Pittis are serving coincidentals from the first period.
redwing77 Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 When JPar is playing, I have trouble figuring out which one has the puck at times. For example "Parise passes to Bochenski out of the zone" Which one? PP Sioux. They seem to be actually protecting ZPar
Diggler Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Hull doesn't use a wood stick. When you see him take a one timer, you know this as his stick looks like a backwards "C". Greene is hillarious. I don't wanna know why he puts lotion on his hand every night though.
schmidtdoggydog Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 I don't wanna know why he puts lotion on his hand every night though. He is trying to get a feel for his stick!
sprig Posted January 18, 2004 Author Posted January 18, 2004 Helminen tackles Bo just as penalty ends. Another Sioux PP.
SiouxTupa Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Another PP coming, Pittis called. Desmet tripped by Jones...Sioux called. 4X4 This is one of our strengths, so lets bury one how 'bout
sprig Posted January 18, 2004 Author Posted January 18, 2004 Another Sioux PP on the Parise takedown. Sooner or later one has to go in.
flatspin7 Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 This maybe Techs strategy, they know we can't score on the powerplay so they just keep a guy in the box!!!
sprig Posted January 18, 2004 Author Posted January 18, 2004 This maybe Techs strategy, they know we can't score on the powerplay so they just keep a guy in the box!!! The game's best scoring chances have been by Tech shorthanded.
DamStrait Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 How do you stop the Sioux? Take penalty after penalty.
