bincitysioux Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Game time is Wednesday Feb. 20 @ 8:00. As usual game will be on Big Sky TV. Obviously, every game is critical at this point, especially following the choke job against NAU on Saturday. This could prove to be the most challenging of the 3 upcoming Big Sky road games. Northern Colorado is one of the four teams tied for fifth place and just a game back of North Dakota. They are 7-9, have won 3 straight games, and are 5-3 at home in conference play. Looks like they are a perimiter team. They are second in the league in 3pt FG % and have made more 3 pointers than any other team in the league. They have two of the top three 3 point shooters in the conference in Garnica (#1) and Unruh (#3). They are prone to turning it over a bit, and we are first in steals that could play into our hands. This game will be a challenge. Any updates on Brekke and Schuler? Quote

Maybe the coaches are making sure they are 100% before they send them on the road for just 1 conference game, especially since Saturday's game means nothing as far as conference. One more week of good rest should have them ready for the final run and then again the most important part of the season have them ready for the tournament. There is a huge difference when these 2 are out of the lineup versus who is in for them plus limiting our bench to very little. Quote
Smoggy Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 This is 3rd hand, but Brekke's dad told someone it will be a while. I can't imagine you wear a boot one week and then be ready to go the next. Quote
NODAK13 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Is this dark cloud ever going to leave? The more I think about all the adversity this team has faced this year and to be tied for third in the conference at 8-8 is remarkable to say the least. Quote
sioux2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Brekke and Schuler are not travelling. Archer is travelling so we at least have 8 players this time. Quote
bincitysioux Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Brekke and Schuler are not travelling. Bummer........... Quote
sioux2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Bummer........... Being the optimist here, but from what I heard they both should be fully recovered for next weeks games. Being only 1 league game this week I believe the trainer/coaches felt one more week would put them back at full strength for the final 3 games and tournament. Hard to argue with that but this team really misses them both. Quote
twins15 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 The key I think will be UNC's offensive rebounding. Derrick Barden is the best offensive rebounder in the Big Sky, and UND has struggled keeping teams off the offensive glass. If UND can rebound and defend UNC's three-point shooters they will really have a chance in this one. Quote
UNDsportsFANATIC Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Barden is definitely a beast! Hopefully Wilmer, Allard and Archer can tagteam the duty to box him out tonight! This last stretch is critical! Quote
the green team Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Northern Colorado was well regarded coming into the season, but struggled. They made some unbelievable shots late here at The Betty, to knock us off. This would be a huge win for us if we could get this game, but they are probably playing their best ball of the season after a tough stretch. It's going to have to be blue collar, an us versus the world type of mentality right now with all the injuries we have. Play great D and score off it, will have to be the formula. Quote
sioux2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Sportsmatic, where have u been for the last 2 months. Huff has been playing great and u have not been around to discuss him. Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 lucky tip leads to an easy Anderson layup then got himself another 8-4 UNC Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Anderson with a 3... and draws the foul! makes the free throw tied at 8! Quote
bincitysioux Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 The 4 point play by Anderson was nice. Second game in a row he's done that. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Yikes... already in some foul trouble. Webb and Wilmer with 2 Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Benton had a really good look, iron unkind. Same with Anderson Quote
