UND 1, Michigan Tech 0 — Rocco Grimaldi (Corban Knight, Joe Gleason) 14:57 (pp). Knight extends his point streak to 12 games when he gets the puck behind the end line and sees Grimaldi standing on top of the crease. Knight sends a nice pass to Grimaldi, who perfectly one-times it to the top corner of the net. UND 2, Michigan Tech 0 — Corban Knight (Danny Kristo, Jordan Schmaltz) 19:59. Knight beats the buzzer to give UND a 2-0 lead. Kristo held the puck deep in the corner and found Knight in the high slot. Knight blasted it for the goal. It is reviewed to see if it crossed the line before the buzzer and it indeed counted. Second period UND 2, Michigan Tech 1 — Blake Pietila (David Johnstone) 6:17. Gaarder tries to carry the puck out of the zone, but Johnstone picks his pocket and Pietila is alone. He snaps one by Saunders’ blocker. UND 3, Michigan Tech 1 — Joe Gleason (Corban Knight, Dillon Simpson) 10:15 (pp). Simpson makes a great hold at the line to keep the puck in the zone. Knight picks it up and finds Gleason wide open at the right point. Gleason walks it down and unleashes a blast short side. UND 4, Michigan Tech 1 — Danny Kristo (Mark MacMillan, Joe Gleason) 16:17. Kristo leads a 3-on-2 rush up the middle of the ice. He dishes to MacMillan, who is rushing up the left wing. MacMillan holds it until he gets near the crease, the finds Kristo backdoor for a tap in. UND 5, Michigan Tech 1 — Corban Knight (Mark MacMillan, Danny Kristo) 19:39. Just after a power play expires, Kristo dishes a puck from the end wall to MacMillan in the corner. I figured with 6 goals someone would have hit. The most obvious combo NOT selected was 10-7-16 and that did hit.
