homer
John Bloomfield, who is a player for Sac. St. has been in a coma for two wees and his parents are now getting ready to take him off life support. My thoughts and prayers go to John, his family and the Sac. St. football program. Truely a sad story. http://www.news10.net/news/article/212372/2/Family-prepares-to-take-football-player-off-life-support

The Sicatoka
"We were basically told on Tuesday that regardless if we want to take him off the ventilator or not," Bloomfield's cousin Papiloa Bloomfield- Fifita said. "By California law it is basically and ultimately the decision of the hospital." Of the hospital and not the family? Seriously?
JohnboyND7
Of the hospital and not the family? Seriously? I want more details before I rush to judgement. But...it certainly looks bad. Always sad to hear about a kid around my age passing away. I've seen how scared my mom has gotten when I have had surgeries. Can't imagine how depressing this would be for a mother. SWSiouxMN
A very sad situation indeed. I can't imagine what that family is going through right now. Always pains me to hear about people my age losing their lives. They die too young
mg2009
Of the hospital and not the family? Seriously? there are plenty of reasons not to want your family making the decision. The best option is a living will.
