SiouxCrew11 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 FYI for everyone the game can be seen on Fox College Sports which is channel 617 on Direct TV!! Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 6 UVU 5 15:00 left in 1st. It has been a rather slow start for both teams. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 18 UVU 11 10:19 left in 1st. Quote
SiouxCrew11 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 We are a completely different team when Brekke is in there - especially without Benter. Big Mike is playing alright off the bench but you can't tell me that it is coincidence how well we have been playing since Brekke was injected into the s tarting lineup. Both teams shooting horribly from the field thus far. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 25 UVU 20 4: 32 left in 2nd. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 33 UVU 26 Halftime. The Sioux were up by 10 with 1.9 seconds left and Utah Valley made a crazy halfcourt shot to pull within 7. Like SiouxCrew11 said, this is not a shooting clinic by any means. Quote
UND92,96 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Huff plays like a true freshman at times, but he also makes some incredibly athletic plays. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 37 UVU 28 15:30 left in 2nd. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 Huff plays like a true freshman at times, but he also makes some incredibly athletic plays. Huff is extremely athletic. But he can definately play out of control. But I have to say that I have already seen some good growth and maturity from him since his first few games. As long as he keeps maturing and learns to play under control, he could turn into an extremely impressive player by his junior and senior years. Quote
dmksioux Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Even though the Sioux are playing well, they sure have not developed much of an inside presence. Their offense tends to revolve around setting screens for the guards so they can attempt to take a couple of dribbles and settle for the jump shot. They don't really even attempt to get a down low game going. btw...what's up with Sweeny constanrly referring to the current temperature? I don't think he needs to emphasize how much colder it is in GF compared to the South Pole! Quote
UND92,96 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Although Allard is listed as a guard on the roster, I think his best position is the 4. He needs to get a little stronger, but it looks like he could potentially be pretty effective. Quote
UND92,96 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I'm pretty impressed with UND's defense. Not a lot of open looks being given up. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 53 UVU 47 4:10 left in 2nd. UND had a lead of 11 just a few minutes ago but Utah Valley got themselves right back in the game. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 And then we take a very stupid offensive foul to give the ball right back to them. Edit: and they hit a 3 off of it. Quote
dmksioux Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Huff sure likes to do the look away to his left and then drive to his left move quite a bit. He was a bit out of control on that last drive... Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 53 UVU 51 2:30 left. UVU ball. Quote
dmksioux Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Man...make a free throw! 14-24 for the night Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND was outscored 14-3 in the final 5:05 and missed plenty of free-throws down the stretch. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 56 UVU 56 Going to OT. And the crowd is leaving. Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 59 UVU 63 2:40 left in OT. Quote
dmksioux Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Both of UVU's big guys have followed out. It would be nice for UND to take advantage and get the ball down low... Quote
UND Fan Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Even if we pull this game out, what a disaster the last five minutes of regulation. Embarrassing to say the least! Quote
dakotadan Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 UND 62 UVU 63 1:00 left in OT. UVU ball. Quote
