BudLight Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Scramble in front of the net and we almost got it in!!!! Quote
neoflex Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Duluth is just stupendous to watch. Very disciplined and not allowing any scoring chances.....we'll have to watch the game film tonight and get some ideas for the playoffs and the game tomorrow afternoon. Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 dam, almost got one passing is lacking and too much passing and not enough shots on pp. you have to just fire on this guy and get rebounds Quote
wsdSIOUXfalls Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Sure would be nice to get a goal before the end of the 2nd. 3 min left Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 HAVE to score on this pp, COME ON SIOUX Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 we have settled down but have just crapped away so many pp's Quote
BudLight Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 End of 2nd, still 2-0 Duluth Scramble at the end of the period also... Well... Maybe we'll have a stupendous 3rd period?? Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 game has settled down but we just spent half of the 2nd period on the PP and couldnt find the net. dam Quote
OETKB Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 game has settled down but we just spent half of the 2nd period on the PP and couldnt find the net. dam So far, ND simply looks lousy out there. Outplayed, plain and simple. Quote
neoflex Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Worst two periods of hockey to watch. Playing a high school type of hockey in a college playoff game. Very frustrating to watch. Just no intensity....they're giving up on almost every rush to the net...and are just plain lazy in the defensive zone. Just no positives in these periods.... Quote
Smoggy Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 haven't really noticed duluth 5 x 5 but we aren't doing much better. I find it odd that we don't have one blue line shot during a PP. Gotta score ugly on Staloch. Quote
Siouxdonyms Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 9 minutes of PP time that period and couldn't find the twine once? Not looking good for the Sioux. Not the type of hockey you want to be playing in March. Stalock all in the head of these guys. Only down by 2, so if we find the net in the first half of the 3rd, we're still in it. If Duluth scores one more, we'll be playing a matinee game tomorrow. Quote

Gotta score ugly on Staloch. Isn't that Sandy's style of hockey? Defense first, especially with a 2 or more goal lead? They take their chances when they get them, but they'll protect their own end first. EDIT: I agree with having to shoot from the blue line, or whereever in the offensive zone. They don't have to be pretty goals. 4 shots on a 5 minute PP is not good! Quote
phriq Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I knew Stalock would be a challenge,,, But we are playing SLOPPY!!! They cannot seem to connect passes and one-timers and HEXTALL! he needs to SETTLE DOWN! hes going to get a HUGE penalty for us! Quote

AZSIOUX Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 yeah we are simply getting beat out there. no excuses. duluths been very solid and we havent done crap on the PP. 20 minutes left. go sioux Quote

Supertrex Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I'm trying to put this game in perspective...it's a college game and, as such, is sloppy and full of mis-steps. Consider that through two periods UND has at least 8 giveaways and Duluth has at least seven. Who can watch that??? So we have the weaker team jumping out to a lead on a couple of very untimely and lucky goals and then just plays the trap for the rest of the game...boring...the style UMD is playing is making the sioux look ineffective because they are...it is well known that if you want to beat the sioux, just play the trap...nobody but genoway can carry the puck thru the neutral zone... Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 net one in the first 5 minutes and turn this into a battle down the stretch. lets just see some fire and jump and maybe they can create some bounces!! Quote
wsdSIOUXfalls Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 We've actually had 21 SOG to their 17... Quote
sdsiouxfan Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 LET'S GET ER DONE SIOUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 We need a completely different team to come out in the 3rd period, what is up with our PP? it's tough to watch. GO SIOUX! Quote
