Goon
The time is fast approaching for the Devils to decide whether rookie center Travis Zajac, in his first training camp with the team, is ready for the NHL. Zajac continues to make it difficult for the Devils to send him to their minor league affiliate. -- Newark Star-Ledger Then I don't feel so bad about him leaving to play for New Jersey. Not sure, but the Devils are still over the cap and I heard they have until noon on Monday to fix that. Not sure what the penalties are for being over. Not sure what the penalties are for being over. j parise and zajac mentions http://hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=9098 The likely back-up to Doyle is former University of North Dakota star Jordan Parise. Parise put up some gaudy numbers over the course of his four-year tenure with the Fighting Sioux, including 24 wins, six shutouts and a sparkling .929 save percentage last season. He was not drafted, but is battle tested having helped lead North Dakota to the Frozen Four the past two years. His signing during the summer did not come as a huge surprise as the Devils lacked goaltending depth within the minor pro ranks, especially after the departure of Ari Ahonen to Finland. Having his brother Zach in the organization likely also played a role in Parise ending up in the Devils organization. A trio of top prospects within the system will be expected to contribute heavily in Lowell, should all three not make the big club out of camp. Travis Zajac, Barry Tallackson and David Clarkson all survived the first round of cuts in New Jersey and while all three likely won

sprig
Speaking of ex-Devils did you guys see that Demarchi is playing hockey in Russia this season? Apparently the Devils had no need for a HFB specialist.

UNDintheNHL
yeah its nice to not have to create players...i canyt wait till the majority of the guys who are playin now are on the games....so, about 2009 lol. thats gonna be a great game. and its gonna be easy to make a sioux team. i did it with nhl06. it was a long, hard process. took about 3 days to make everyone that wasnt on there. i dont like that 07 is pretty much exactly like 06, for us normal x-boxers.....there is hardly any differences. anyways, agian, its nice to have more and more former sioux players (and former WCHA players) on the game. mwade
FYI, Versus (new name for OLN) has "Stanley's Summer" or something like that following the Cup around on its player visits. It's on right now (6pm EST), but will be repeated.

AZSIOUX
Hale didn't play on the weekend due to an eye injury. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10460&hubname= does he where a shield?? im guessing he will now if he didnt. it seems to take a bad eye injury for players to wear one. Devils defenseman David Hale did not play Saturday after being struck above the right eye with the puck during Friday's practice. Hale said he had his eye examined by an ophthalmologist and underwent a CAT scan Friday and there was no fracture or damage to his eyesight. - Bergen Record news on greg and ryan johnson as well http://tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=10460&hubname= Blues center Ryan Johnson has been watching practice in street clothes the past two days, awaiting further tests on his heart. Johnson's older brother, Greg, failed his preseason physical in Detroit because of an abnormal EKG, and the Blues want to take precaution because of that. - St. Louis Post Dispatch
